BLUES! - Robben Ford - Talk To Your Daughter - Rj Style!

I was sorting through my backing tracks this moring and stumbled across this Robben Ford backing track. I liked it so well, that I decided to do a cover of it on the spot. There's only one catch - I have NEVER HEARD the original - so I just did my own thing. I would be interested in hearing what the original sounds like. Maybe I can find it on Kazaa.

Well here it is - this was recorded in one take after listening to the song once, and playing along with it once. No dubs, no edits - all I did was add some reverb and EQ to the guitar, and "rode the volume" while mixing down.

Great version rj! The riff you had going there reminded me a bit of Johnny Winter.
You sure are one smooth blues player.
Maybe the guitar could be a little louder tho.

You know - you're right - now that I listen to it again, the guitar is a bit low. I am thinking of re-doing this in a more "polished" version anyway. Thanks for listening and for your kind comments!

Nice riff there at the beginning i really liked it , i just thought you could've maybe brought it down in the mix or played a bit softer when the vocals came in for the frist time it seemed to over power it a bit ,

nice solo ! was really happening ! very cool !

I also really liked towards the end when you pulled out the trem picked chords . i loved that !

nice job overall , i strongly suggest you (well and everyone) listen to the original cause even though it's a bit cheesey a tune , the solo's robben ford pulls off are just classic and should be learnt by everyone ! hehe
