Bullet With A Name/Nonpoint Mr. & Mrs. SC350
Hey gang! Well, this is my first attempt at making my own drum tracks in Cubase w/ Drumkits From Hell 2. It was a learning experience to say the least and I thank Goport for his walkthru. It was a REAL help. This is a band from South Florida so I don't know how many people outside of here know about them. I made the drum track and played bass and guitars. Mrs. SC did the vocals (except for the back up, that's me). We had a good time and I feel like I made it over a big hurdle. Still lots to learn, but I'm making progress. Enjoy!
**EDIT** new mix is a few posts down...

Yeah, I have this old Roland R-8 and it sounds like a toy compared to your drum track! It's good to hear a Nonpoint cover, I think that "What A Day" was one of the best Nu-Rock tunes ever! Could you guys try that song next? Anyway, this was a great post!

quick question.
now that you have done a drum track, is it easier then you first thought? or does it still require a lot of work?
did you do all the hits by hand, or was it a midi before?

Yes, I did it all by hand, no midi. While copying and pasting similar patterns makes things easier it was still alot of work. That being said it WAS my first one. I'm sure things will be easier as I get more comfortable w/ things. One of the hardest things is being able to know how to build rolss and things. You have to have some knowledge of drums for sure.

Most EXCELLENT my brother!!!!!! I was privy to the notorious drum track here, without all the instruments mixed yet....and let me tell ya, DFH is a POWERFUL sounding tool for sure!!! It's incredible the degree of realism they put into this plugin!!! And Matt, to you bro, for your first attempt!!! Sounds just KILLER!!!! And, of course the tune itself....tones, playing, THE QUEEN!!!!!!! All completely STELLAR in my book!!!!! Do we have another top producer on the way???!!!! I think YES!!!! BIG 5+!!!!!!!!!!

Once again Mr & Mrs S350 - an outstanding piece of work. I haven't heard of Nonpoint before - but this is a killer tune. Mr s - very tidy work on the drum track - how did you track it - I've done some orig. drum tracks, but have been playing with the best way to track drums for covers. That is, put the orig wav file in my sequencer and try and get the click track to follow it, then programme the drums, or just play thru with my drum machine as a midi input and then tidy up the bits that don't line up without worrying about the tempo track. I'm undecided which is easier - curious to know how you tackled it bro. As always - killer tone and great playin.
Mrs S - Another charged performance - I'm a big fan! Keep up the great work!
Cheerz guys this was great!!

Thanks JPF and kpp_custom for checking this out.
kpp, I did use a metronome to try and find the bpm of the original song. From there I just winged it. I have no prior knowledge of programming drums AT ALL. Not even with drum machines so all I had was Goports walkthru for drums in Cubase to go by (very helpful!) and was on my own for the rest. I definately have more appreciation for people who create this stuff on their own. It was a lot of work but it was a good time too. I'm getting ready to start another!
Thanks for the props bro'!
