Comfortably numb

Been playing for about a year and a half, just made this, I don't have any backing and the recording quality sucks, I stopped about 7/8's of the way cause the tabs didn't sound right, I'll learn the rest eventually, but tell me opinions please.

well its a good start. i will be brutaly honest with you in hopes that it helps you.

bends are out of tune, to correct this, say you wanna do a half step bend, play the fret that is after the one your bending. memorize how it sounds, now bend your note to this pitch. i reccomend using a tuner so you know.

same with whole step bends only play the note that is 2 frets away, instead of 1.

timing is off. i reccomend using a metronome and slowing it down a lot till you can get it at that speed and increase it a tiny bit till you can do it at full speed. i even reccomend going beyond normal speed and playing it faster the the original. then the normal tempo will be even eisier.

backing doesn't sound liek the song, that can be fixed. i can send you a better backing if you like?

Rich is right, don't be afraid to really grab those strings and yank em. Bending and vibrato are two of the biggest things that will define your sound, so work on them like crazy.

Hell man if I could play better than that after a year and a half of playing. This is how I learned how to do bends. It's something that comes with time. I never made a conscious decsicion to bend notes in tune but I learned lots of songs (including comfortably numb) and just did what sounded right. Just keep at it and check your playing cause if you don't you'll develop bad habits. The recording quality is bad so that probably didn't help. Your a beginner and your learning so just keep at it man your sound will gradually improve. I'd be lying if I said that I never thought of quitting. There were some points when I was starting out that I wondered if I'd ever become good or even average.

ozzyman527...... ive been playing off and on for 24 years and still cant play this song right but youve got a start . i dont know what your recording with it sounds like your recording from a mic in a open room. the other replies have some good ideas.first things first work on your backing track. with the right chord structure and timing otherwise the lead wont fit right. anyway i can hear some soul in your lead just waiting to come out. hope this helps

I'm plugging straight into my computer, for now, but I am hoping to actually buy a new recording hardware today.

But I guess I can take that as a compliment, thanks.

I've got another version of the song that I made, it's the second solo only.

The second one was much better. The recording quality definetly takes away from your performance though. That's not an insult incase you took it that way, it sounds like your coming along.
