Mercy Street -acapella
This is a bit off the beaten path (and might seem a bit odd to some of you). It is an all voice acapella version of Peter Gabriel's "Mercy Street". My recording PC started to tap out in CPU usage so I was unable to add any more tracks...so this version is a working copy. This is a large file 6.7meg. Thanks for checking it out.

Excellent work, Matt! Definitely bold of you to perform acapella, but the results were worth the risks. This is very buttery smooth and I like how you used your voice for more than just the vocal parts. This is so rich and lush with layers and harmonies. I'm very impressed with this. Great job, dude!

this is beautiful! I hope more people listen to this because it shows just how music does not have to be restricted to physical instruments. The arrangement is intelligent and it works on every level. The mix is beautiful and the song never loses pace at all. The harmonies are sublime. This is really one of the most beautiful covers I have heard here.
Excellent job Mat!

Thanks a lot guys
Jeff - thanks dude for your comments. As always I appreciate you criticism. It is a bit outside the norm for a recording project...guess my choir background is catching up with me
Goport - Wow! Coming from you Goport I take that as a huge complement. I listened to the original through headphones while I was recording and just tried to come up interesting vocal harmonies as I sang along. It was the best way I could come up with to keep the timing in sync. Thanks for you comments.

i echo what these other guys have already said , this is super cool , glorious harmonies , very folk like , you actually sound like Gabriel in parts . it has an african vibe to it . Flangers and chorus do strangle the processor , but there essential on tracks like this . I some times group together parts in Cubase to lessen the drain . Anyway this is very very good , ive never heard the tune before but this is just superb . CLASS !

Just an incredible class in the use of the " original instrument". People have been busting their asses for years, making all kinds of different noise making machines, just to emulate what the voice has been doing since the begining of time.......kudos bro, on a first class piece of MUSIC!!

Fantastic!! One of my favorite albums of all time is Todd Rundgren's "A Capella" album...this reminds me of his harmonies. VERY Peter Gabriel-ish!!! You really have a great production here!! Very nice to hear and reminds me that nothing is out of bounds when we pursue to create music. Thanks for posting this Koo!
