My take on Summer Song

Hi all this is my take on Summer song its not supposed to be note for note , but did keep the main theme, seems like its getting harder and harder for me to find time to play let alone record this was done at like 2am with my headphones and still got up on time for work .

Nice job. It's been a long time since I heard the original but I did notice some missing harmonics and a bend or two out of step but really overalll a good job. The tone was great.

Not bad Ron but you gotta get that little harmonic riff at the beginning...it's a kinda coda for the song. I haven't got a guitar at hand but I'm certain the harmonics go 5th fret A, 4th fret D, 5th fret D, 5th fret G etc. Liked the tone and recorded well dude...let's hear more.

thx for the comments yeah the beginning was off because i used the wah pedal on pod xt live wanted it off in the intro but when i went to click it on for main riff it showed in recording so i tried leaving it on in the intro but it effected the tone of the harmonics, i know what i can do now to fix that in the future still learning on this xt pro thx again all

Wonderfully solid and confident playing . Very rich tone, it thoroughly fills out the track.

loosen up a lot. you have to do the bends and vibratos better to make it a better listen.

this is one Satch song i have actually heard fully before. and it sounds like you do a pretty good job at covering it. tone is cool and so is the playing. i cant critique too much cause im not a satch expert at all. theres plenty of those about though.

Rock On Ron my good man

Damn....i think i rather shut up and not spoil the party but i guess thats just not me. Its hard for me to enjoy a cover when the main riff is not executed the way it should be. But i do like when people add their own chops to the song for instance on the solo section. This was great, its always cool to hear diferent aproachs to a song and this one acomplish what i state. Dont like the tone and the harmonics at the beginig were annoying for me..... but i can apreciate your effort on the phrasing, that was the highlight for me on this one. Keep em coming.

Update

The more I thought about this, the more I was thinking that I dont enjoy a improvised cover of a song if it's obvious the player cant play the song as it was written. In this case I think the player is very capable of playing it but CHOSE to take it a different direction.

Not meaning to be offensive to anyone, thats just my take on covers in general. I will not be covering anything until I can play it note for note, then will branch off and do my own thing!!!!

Again, great job on this!!!!!
