Rythameen & Son -- Oreo Cookie Blues
Kind of a slow day here at the house, so I talked my son into doing this Lonnie Mack song with me. Oreo Cookie Blues. (which will do nothing to help me lose the Cookie Monster moniker). Just did it in 4 passes, I am in the center channel on guitar, and on the right on slide, my son, (making his recording debut) is on the left channel. We ended up over dubbing his lead, because he wasn't happy with it. Anyway it's done fast and loose, but it was fun doing a project with my son. Hope you enjoy it.
I re uploaded the song, because my son told me I put in the wrong lead, and "he was not happy". So I redid it with the lead he chose. He just may become a rock star someday, he has the primma donna attitude down pat already.

Wow that was amazing the playing was great from both you and your son, and the singing was so perfect for the song. Sounded really professional, great job.

Thanks Mandy Actually my son is the first lead break, the little over the top shredder stuff. I am teaching him slide though, and hopefully he can do some of that too.

aside from the obvious novelty value of the song (as in the subject matter) this is very professionally recorded and performed. Quite stunning and a joy to listen to. You and your son should be very proud of this.

Nothing wrong with this at all. A perfect mix, and those vocals are great there, Rythameen senior ! Rythameen junior, there's some sweet playing as well !
Man, I just loved this. Everything, the feel, the playing, the recording, the vocals, its just so blues-y, I forgot I was listening to a cover from this site, it's just authentic stuff.
Thanx for sharing, really enjoyed this one dude !

Thanks JPF, and yes my son is coming along, got a little ways to go before he beats the old man I think, but he is definitely going there. Gotta get him to be rich and famous, so I can live in comfort in my old age.

I'm trying to talk him into it, he wasn't real crazy about doing acoustic, but I think I might get him to do something electric. It's like pulling teeth getting him to record right now...........according to him everything he does "sucks". He's got that teenage angst thing going on right now.

Hey thanks Naif, coming from the little Sweedish blues demon, that means a lot.

Hey Porty and Mondy, you guys are way too kind, Really appreciate your comments, I'll show them to my son, and maybe he will loosen up a bit, and get in on the fun more.
