Rythameen - See You In My Dreams
And yet another one this weekend. This is just my little stab a a Chet Atkins/Merle Travis type of thing. I learned this a long time ago when I used to play in a duet with Terry Robb in Portland Or, hadn't thought of it in along time, and just kind of pulled it out this afternoon. A lot of warts and what not in it, but I liked this take.

wow i remember my grandmother singing this song, great memories brought back to me Rhyth..... great playing ..... i would of liked to hear you sing it....
I'll see you in my dreams
And then I'll hold you in my dreams
Someone took you right out of my arms
Still I feel the thrill of your charms
Lips that once were mine
Tender eyes that shine
They will light my way tonight
I'll see you in my dreams

Thanks Linda, I'll see what I can do. I never knew the words, never really heard the song. Like I said I was doing an acoustic blues duo thing, and this guy just said "Here, play this", and said that his uncle had taught him. I think a little investigation is in order.

here they are i think your vox will be great on this song
I'll see you in my dreams
And then I'll hold you in my dreams
Someone took you right out of my arms
Still I feel the thrill of your charms
Lips that once were mine
Tender eyes that shine
They will light my way tonight
I'll see you in my dreams
(instrumental break)
Yes I will...see you in my dreams
You know I'll...hold you in my dreams
I know that...someone took you right out of my arms
But...still I feel the thrill of your charms
I dream of...lips that once were mine
And those...tender eyes that shine
I know...they'll light my way tonight
When I...see you in my dreams
Yes they will...light my way tonight
Because I'll...see you in my dreams

This is just fantastic! Rythameen this is a great piece to cover and your playing is outstanding. My favorite version of this tune is done by Joe Brown. I like the way he performed the tune for The Concert for George. I bought the DVD of that concert and it is a real tearjerker in parts, especially this tune which closes out the concert. Beautiful red leaves are dropped on the crowd at the Royal Albert Hall as he closes the show out with this tune. If you watch that and don't get a bit choked up well then you are just inhuman.
Thanks for posting this.

your precision is unbelievable... Is that you breathing in my right speaker? Even that is timed perfectly. Terrific piece, would love to hear those words to it, they seem really special. Very touching that Linda's grandma used to sing it to her.
