Tone Experiment

Hey Guys,

Here's a short clip of me trying to nail down that elusive VH tone - I have a long way to go, I'm afraid. I recorded dry then added verb with the recording software. Oh yeah, one more thing, you'll need to turn up your speakers. Your comments are very much appreciated - thanks!

Re: Tone Experiment

Thanks, Bro!! You made my day! I'm using my 5150, but... I did something to it this weekend. I swapped out the Shefield speakers and installed two 8 ohm Celestion Greenbacks (picked them up used at a local guitar repair shop). I'm really liking the sound but I'll just have to be careful to not turn up the vol to high and blow out the speakers.

Re: Tone Experiment

It's not Ed's tone, but it's sounds fantastic in my opinion. I really like how warm and intimate that tone is!

Re: Tone Experiment

That's really close. Sounds awesome. Try panning the guitar hard to one side. Apply a plate verb with a low cut. Pan the reverb only to the other side. They used an EMI plate on Eddie.
