Well cause I'm just experimenting\tweaking with my tone didn't really want to post the whole thing , forgive me ?

The gear is my 5150 (guitar) into an Oberheim GM - 1000
processor into a DOD SRQ 430 15 band stereo EQ into a Rocktron Hush Super C , the right side goes to a 120 5150 head to a 4x12 cab the left side goes to a 100 watt Rhino Tone Ranger 2x12 tube combo.
Basically what you are hearing is the Oberheim, the tube heads are set to clean and just being used as power amps,
I'm always trying to get early VH with it, Later VH like RHRN or Balance is pretty simple to get and I think I get closer to the VH 1 sound in this patch than I can my holy grail tone : MeanStreet from Fair warning.

Re: tone opinions please

The tone is close, but I sense that it may have more buzz and treble than I'd like to hear. Call me crazy...

Re: tone opinions please

my only critism would be it sounds like your revb is rolling off too much hifreq and not enough lowfreq... in otherwords your revb sounding hi pitch... just slightly tho

Re: tone opinions please

I was listening to the tone through my AKG headphones and something just was not right. Sometimes a lot of tone can get screwed up with the mp3 compression, or someting to do with the bouncing process of your final mix.
I've had bad surprises with that too more than once.
I hope you can get to the bottom of this.
Keep at it, as I feel that you are really close to the right tone.

Re: tone opinions please

Thought it sounded a bit 'harsh' but I reckon this was more likely the recording than the tone. It's all there Rol but would have to add a bit more bottom for my ear...lets hear more man.
