Van Halen - Girl You Really Got Me Now
This is a song I like to test my tone on. So I thought I would. I used a different setting for my 5150 II this time. Phase on the solo like in the record. Enjoy!

I think your really, really close. I think if you were to mix the guitar to one side and leave the reverb on the other channel like Ed had his guitar mixed on this album, you would be there. I think that recording technique is a part of the tone on the first 2 albums imo. I would love to hear that if you do a remix down the road with the same setup you used here...it's really a great tone you have though.

Thanks! Yeah, I was thinking of doing that. Cept the Bass isn't panned accordingly. It's centred. But I'll try and put it up for you to hear!

Here it is. Not much difference in my opinion. But I do like it panned this way. I always thought, out of all the bands I listened to, Van Halen did the best job of mixing their music.

Yup the tone is similar. I think EVH had a little more reverb on it. Sounds cool though.

Thanks! Aww man. I'm gunna redo the "You Really Got Me Now" cover. I just recorded the rhythm track to "Runnin with the devil" cuz I found a sick backing track. Man it's sounding pretty good tone wise. I'll be sure to add more reverb. I'll put both tracks up probably tomorrow.

Sweet, original tone seemed a little thicker to me but it was nearly spot on. the solo was perfect VH. Great skills.
