Van Halen - Up for Breakfast

OK, here is my version of Up for Breakfast. I spent about 8 days on this and if I didn't just call it completed and get it out here I would have tweaked this one for the rest of my life. It's based on the backing track that I did last week which is posted in the Backing Track Forum, only the levels have been adjusted for a better mix.

For anyone who is interested, the gear used is as follows:

Guitars: Peavey Wolfgang
Bass: New Yamaha I just bought
Drums: Technically a Sonor set with a 14" Pearl Free Floating Brass Shell snare drum
Keys: Sampled from the actual track and looped
Recording/Mixing/Mastering Environment: Steinberg Cubase SX 2.2.0

Comments and constructive criticism is very welcome. I'm still learning and I'd love to know if something doesn't sound right.

Re: Van Halen - Up for Breakfast

Any chance of posting some tab for this? Just some of the main riffs would be great to have.

Re: Van Halen - Up for Breakfast

If I get some free time I'll tab it out, though I'm warning you right now about the tab; it'll probably not be that great.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to capture all the nuances of the song in a tab without it taking a year.

Did you see the It's About Time power tab that someone did? That was *amazing* and the guy did it in like 2 days. I know my transcription wouldn't even be close to that good. I guess for some reason I feel I have to live up to that one. Maybe I should just give it a shot. Something is better than nothing.

Thanks for the comments guys!

Re: Van Halen - Up for Breakfast

It doesn't have to be. I'd just appreciate the basics. I have a good chunk figured out, but there are a few chords stabs in the chorus that I can't hear because they're burried in the mix.

I'm sure most of the guitarists around here would love anything you could give them.

I'm still trying to figure out how someone got IAT tabbed in less than 48 hours. It's almost like they had the song earlier than that.

Eric,

That's awsome as usual... Can you post your sound patch for that? OR just tell us the settings on that Missisipi Criminal patch you are using for your Vetta? The sound is just awesome... I love the tone...

BTW - YOU site is still not working man! The links are all dead?

Who played the drums for you? Not bad, but the Alex nuances aren't there. No offense...Great all the same. How did you record the drums??? Are they live, or memorex?
