Video Cover of G'N'R's Used to Love Her

I don't have much of any kind of media that has survived from projects I was involved in from late 80s to early 90s. I made sure to preserve one of the few recordings ever taken of a performance though as soon as I got myself a dvd burner a few years ago. The tape was already well played by the time I got to burning it to dvd.

The skinny...an old band of mine called The Institution taped circa 1990. I had two wisdom teeth extracted two days prior to this show and there was no way I was going to not be there. I was taking pain killers that put me on the verge of sleep. You can tell I look really freakin' out of it (I'm the guy on the right with the cheesy 80's John Oates 'stache). The file is about 5.8mb and the video is pretty good compressed like I made it for the web. The audio cannot really be better as it was recorded through the mic of the camcorder so it wasn;t all that great to begin with. I figured some of you might get a kick out of this. I miss those days badly and I wish I had more media of old performances to watch. I only have, at best, maybe a few cassette tapes buried somewhere of live and studio recordings. I know several tapes broke years ago playing in the car stereos. I never made copies to protect them. Oh well. Still very good friends, he was my best man, with the guitarist playing the sweet SG. None of us look like this any more, thank god [img]images/smilies/smile.gif[/img]

Those dudes were beyond drunk. They were even rolling around during the slow covers too like Wish You Were Here! I thought it was funny to see that one guy picking those dudes up and moving them away from the singer cuz the mic kept whacking him in the mouth [img]images/smilies/smile.gif[/img] ZAP!!!

strat this was at Rutgers University, my alma mater. They had live band every Thursday night in the PUB. Was a great sized venue (225 to 230 max capacity) to play. We played a few times a year and the shows were sponsored by the school radio station WRNU. This particular show was overbooked by the station. There were three acts instead of 2 and even though we were the main event, we ended up going on very late, like 11:30pm and they cut us off at 1:00am.

Sadly, they did away with the pub, and smoking, etc, years ago and now I understand it's a cafe [img]images/smilies/icon_confused.gif[/img] I feel badly for the student body not being able to have that pub to go to. Lord knows it was the ruination of my GPA [img]images/smilies/drunk.gif[/img]
