WAHWAH & JPF Montrose "Rock Candy"!!!
Hey all!!! Chris sent me this track he had laying around for awhile....just looking for some vocals. Well, me being the vocal whore (Karm) that i am....not to mention a HUGE Montrose fan, i just had to jump on in!!!! Hope some of ya remember this one!!!! ROCK ON!!!!!!

Thanks all...I really didn't know this song at all (Montrose left me by except for 'Bad Motor Scooter', 'Space Station No.5' and 'This Planet's On Fire'). But I heard a kinda American Zeppelin sound on this one so the drums are very primitive sounding as is the bass and guitars. I didn't want to overdub anything so any mistakes were left.
JPF was the iceing on the cake...he has that big Sammy roar. Thanks mate....and thanks for the listen.

holy smokes it's scarry how much you sound like the earlier sammy. you really fit this song. chris certainly does a good ronnie montrose. too bad montrose didn't play long solos on that album. he is such a fantastic guitarist and one of the biggest influnces on me as a guitarist. i have every album including the gamma ones and saw him in concert 4 times. he is unbelivabale live. in fact when i was in "the kicks band" in 1979 we were the back up band for him at madison wisconsin at a small avenue called headliners. he was with gamma then and i got to meet him but he was more interested in the blonde that was sitting on his lap so we just got a handshake. i was a little dissapointed because i really wanted to talk to him but he was being a "star". the singer was really cool and is now the singer on robin trower's new album davey pattison i think? |
