Yngwie Malmsteen - Far Beyond The Sun
I should rename this one "Far Beyond Me"
I honestly don't know what I was thinking - this is the first Yngwie tune I've ever tried to learn and there's one of those speedy little accending arpeggio breaks near the begining that gave me a hell of a time. It makes me cringe, but I ended up just leaving it as is.
One of these days I'll planning on revisiting this track to polish up the rough edges and add the second half.
So, other than one or two little moments I think it's a pretty respectable stab at this bitch of a song.
Cheers

Thanks man for taking the time and checking it out.
I'm actually pretty proud of the way the track turned out. There's just a couple little "bugs" in it that really bother me.
I've wanted to learn this track since 1984, when I first bought the album. It wasn't until someone posted this killer backing track a couple weeks ago that I made up my mind to give it a shot.

That is great. It makes a change to hear a malmsteen song covered which doesn't sound too much like malmsteen (I think that's a good thing). It rocks.

Re: Yngwie Malmsteen - Far Beyond The Sun
Nice job Bones. I personally wouldn't even attempt this number cause I just plain ain't got these kind of chops in my riff bag. But apparently you do! Nice job.

Are you referring to the video game, Castlevania???
I love that composition! I have it as an MP3. I am not a gamer and I have never even played the game, but my nephews were playing it a number of years ago and the song stuck in my head. I accidentally found it on Napster before Lars had it shut down ( ). I still listen to it every once in a while.
Sorry Bones, for taking up part of your thread to talk about a video game soundtrack.
