Mike from Detroit here. I'm a new user, and I love this place already!
I'm a bass player by trade, but have also been playing guitar (or trying at least) for about 12 years. I suffered a hand injury a few years back, so I was out of commission for a couple years, but decided to go balls out again with music about 5 months ago.
I'm a life-long metalhead, heavily into thrash, hardcore, shred, and a lot of euro-based stuff. I even dabble into some punk,
death metal, and black metal now and then. And of course, my roots are still firmly planted in 60's, 70's, and 80's Hard Rock.
Back in April, I dusted off my old grinders, picked up a few new toys, and set up a crude PC-based digital studio in the bedroom of my house (which my wife hates, by the way). I've picked up a few decent little programs here and there that have really made me step up and focus on writing and arranging again.
I'm looking forward to hangin' here a bit and maybe learnin' a thing or two from you monsters. Hopefully I'll be able to help out a little too, and throw some advice or some licks or backing tracks up for the masses to enjoy as well.
