Hey! New Guy From NY...

I can't believe I never thought of looking for a place like this before. I'm 38 and a huge VH fan. I, like many of you, was so influenced by EVH that it's not even funny. Thing is, I never had such resources in the '80s. So I stopped playing for 15 years and now I'm back.

I hope to get to know you all and hope to learn much.

Dave

Welcome aboard from another 38-year old VH fan. I can totally relate to your post. I had not picked up a guitar in over 16 years, but was completely inspired by this site to dust off my guitar start playing again.

Re: Hey! New Guy From NY...

I'm pleased to meet you guys. I actually got back into playing when I sold my Laney half-stack and '59 Guild X-175 on Ebay. I then sold all my Boss and MXR stuff too. So I decided I'd keep the '79 Les Paul I bought new when I was 14. I put a Kahler on it in '85 because I couldn't afford a new guitar and wanted a locking vibrato like Eddie. I decided I would get a small amp to keep in the house just in case I ever wanted to play. When I started researching small amps... I got sucked back in. I bought a Line 6 Spider 1x12 and that was it. At the time, a friend at work turned me on to Dream Theater and now I play every day. In fact, I've got a new Ibanez RG350 to practice on and I'm waiting for my Ernie Ball/Music Man Petrucci to be ready. They're great guitars. Anyway, I'm dying to learn the intro to Mean Streets but can't find any real discussion about it. I hope someone here can point me in the direction.

Thanks.

Dave
