Well now...
I'm 28 years old (I think, I have got this one wrong a lot recently). I was born in a little town called Blackburn in Lancashire in the North West of England. Listen to "A Day In The Life" by The Beatles.
I got into music at an early stage from what my older brother and sister listened to. It was a weird fusion of Rush, Iron Maiden, The Beach Boys, Brian Ferry,
Michael Jackson, but most importantly, Van Halen.
My brother got me into loud guitar music. He had a crappy old fender guitar that he could make sing, then he bought this red guitar that was just loud. I idolised him because he could play things like Johnny B. Goode, Phantom Of The Opera, plus lots of other really cool riffs.
So it was no surprise that I started fooling around with guitar. When he moved out, he left me with a few scales and chords, and a serious addiction with Van Halen. Little did he know that these two obsessions would pretty much take over my life.
I try to play guitar, but really don't devote enough time to it, so that's the reason I am not better than I should be. Add to this a serious lack of confidence with regard to my playing, and you can understand why it's a bit of a struggle. Despite all of this, I still find it fun, which is what it's all about.
I have recently got married to a wonderful woman, Jen. She puts up with my Van Halen,
Blackburn Rovers (football team) and Bad Guitar Playing obsessions. Anyone who can put up with my Van Halen Tattoo, Kramer 5150 on display in the living room, yells of, "Pick THAT fucker out!", and rants of why Van Halen are the best band in the world (even when sober) has got to be wonderful.
Wedding pics are floating around in various threads on here. Jen and I both now live down the South of England, about an hour out of London with two cats that we got from a rescue centre, Tilly and Halen.
I came on this website to join all these other people, and I really love the community here.
Life at the moment is good. Work is shite...
