Re: New Forum

Well, my intention was to put this forum up so new people would have a place to simply say hello if they want. Everyone just sort of jumped in and are telling their stories, which I think is a pleasant surprise. So I think it's a good idea to keep it in this thread.

Re: New Forum

So everybody can introduce themselves in this thread.

So you got a forum with only ONE thread.

At an other board where I'm posting there was a "Member introduction" forum and each (new) member who likes to introduce themselves creates a thread on his own. Then you saw a steady bunch of people jump in and say "hi" to that (new) member.....

I was just thinking.....

My preference would be a thread for each introduction, but I don't want to be the only one who creates a new thread while the rest keeps posting in this one......

Just thinking.......

Actually, just for us regulars I meant, sorry for not being clear. If you want to start your own topic that's fine too, there are no restrictions in any of this, you asked so I just gave my opinion

OK, that's it. I will NOT be the first one (or only one) who creates a new thread.

I "live" on the web under the name siN, which is an abbreviation of the name of my band "sure it's Neal", where I play a little bit of guitar (YES, I call that playing...... ).

I'm 33 years old, live in the Netherlands and I am married with my wife and have two kids: A 5 (almost 6) year old daughter and a son of seven months. Busy family life......

Guitaroriented music is very important for me, but I have a narrow view in this which holds me almost continuously into that fantastic decade "the 80s"!!

I've put some other info about my rig and band on this board:
Gear pics of siN
1997 studio promo album: In it
2002 live album: Live at the WAF
2002 studio album: siN-Full

During the day I'm a Business Analist in the ICT-business. Can't help.......

Re: New Forum

Well now...

I'm 28 years old (I think, I have got this one wrong a lot recently). I was born in a little town called Blackburn in Lancashire in the North West of England. Listen to "A Day In The Life" by The Beatles.

I got into music at an early stage from what my older brother and sister listened to. It was a weird fusion of Rush, Iron Maiden, The Beach Boys, Brian Ferry, Michael Jackson, but most importantly, Van Halen.

My brother got me into loud guitar music. He had a crappy old fender guitar that he could make sing, then he bought this red guitar that was just loud. I idolised him because he could play things like Johnny B. Goode, Phantom Of The Opera, plus lots of other really cool riffs.

So it was no surprise that I started fooling around with guitar. When he moved out, he left me with a few scales and chords, and a serious addiction with Van Halen. Little did he know that these two obsessions would pretty much take over my life.

I try to play guitar, but really don't devote enough time to it, so that's the reason I am not better than I should be. Add to this a serious lack of confidence with regard to my playing, and you can understand why it's a bit of a struggle. Despite all of this, I still find it fun, which is what it's all about.

I have recently got married to a wonderful woman, Jen. She puts up with my Van Halen, Blackburn Rovers (football team) and Bad Guitar Playing obsessions. Anyone who can put up with my Van Halen Tattoo, Kramer 5150 on display in the living room, yells of, "Pick THAT fucker out!", and rants of why Van Halen are the best band in the world (even when sober) has got to be wonderful.

Wedding pics are floating around in various threads on here. Jen and I both now live down the South of England, about an hour out of London with two cats that we got from a rescue centre, Tilly and Halen.

I came on this website to join all these other people, and I really love the community here.

Life at the moment is good. Work is shite...
