Cameron Diaz Wins Block on Nude Photos
Don't expect to see those notorious pre-fame photos of Cameron Diaz anytime soon. The ''Charlie's Angels'' star won a court victory Monday against photographer John Rutter, who took the photos a decade ago. A Los Angeles Superior Court judge ordered the photos sealed, pending Diaz's request for an injunction against Rutter, the Associated Press reports.
Diaz claims she never signed a waiver allowing Rutter to sell the snapshots, which her spokesman calls the fruit of a ''private modeling session,'' shot when she was 21, shortly before she found fame in 1994's ''The Mask.'' She claims the signature that appears on the form is a forgery. While the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office has acknowledged searching Rutter's apartment in response to Diaz's complaint, he has not been charged with a criminal offense.
Attorneys for Diaz and Rutter have both declined to comment on Monday's ruling, which also included the sealing of a videotape of undisclosed nature. The judge is due to hear arguments over Diaz's injunction request on Sept. 12.
