Comedy Movies Rant
Ok, so Im over at Rotten Tomatoes looking for some good moviies to see and I come across this upcoming comedy called "Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle". Turns out this comedy has a 100% review on the site, so Im like Damn, this must be the greatest comedy of all time. I don't know if it is or not, but the reviewers say it is and then they go on to say about how much gross out and fart jokes are in the movie.
When the hell did gross out jokes and fart jokes become good comedy??? Well actually, I know farts have been funny in plays since the time of the Greeks, but I dunno, I've never found them too funny.
I wouldn't care so much, its just that any comedy that gets made nowadays seems to be propped up on a crutch of flatulence, gross-out stuff, or gratuitious sex. I hate to do it, but I've got to agree with President Bush here, modern comedies suck.
The only comedys in recent memory I can think of that didn't suck was "The Big Lebowski" and "South Park" (ok so it had gross out stuff but it was done intelligently), is it too much to ask for some more intellegintly scripted comedy. Or do I have to keep sitting through "There something about Mary". "Dude Where's My Car". "Scary Movie" (what the hell Wayans, you used to write good movies), "Cabin Fever",........................
Rant off.

Re: Comedy Movies Rant
Can never be too much toilet humour. I've always found farts funny. Must be the kid in me !
I'd say go and see the comedy, and then say whether you like it or not. You never know, it might be fart jokes done in a whole new intelligent way !
PARRRRRRRRRRRRRRPPP !!!!

Re: Comedy Movies Rant
I saw previews for that movie in the theatre. It may have just been me but it looked stupid. Maybe they were saving the best parts and threw in all the awful ones.lol. I love stupid humor. I am a big Kevin Smith fan, but this movie just didn't look that funny. 100% review, makes me wonder what that guy was on reviewing it. Watch me end up buying the damn thing though. lol. Re: Comedy Movies Rant
Show me any slapstick fart movie and I am a happy camper. I used to sit around making wav files of fart situations, people stuck in an elvevator etc. and would laugh my ass off the whole time I was making it. Some day I have plans to make my master piece "I shit my pants".

Re: Comedy Movies Rant
Dare I admit that as kids we used to have an old tape recorder loaded with "The Fart Tape" ?
Anytime you had a ripper coming, just go over to the fart tape and press record, if you'd be so kind.
We would always fall about the floor laughing at that tape !
I would laugh myself silly if I ever came across it again as well !!!

Probably the funniest movie I have seen all year, I saw it in the theater and ran out and bought the DVD the day it came out. I couldn't recommend a movie more
