I'm having it tomorrow! I got a call from an old mate of mine today...Mike Muskett...he was a great guitarist back in the day, and he got a bit fed up and bought one of the first BBC computers. He's now Artistic Commercial Director for Acclaim Software and I picked his brains about new development and stuff. I said how the delays caused by some games actually increase the WANT factor and this is one of them. Know how you feel about Half-Life mate...that was awesome! Then Max Payne for me! i just chcked out the trailers for this and it looks stunning . apparently you need a really really REALLy REALLY good graphics card to play it smoothly though . but it looks awesome . unfortunately i doubt my comp could run it haha

Shit, back in my day, 16 Mb video card and 8 Mb RAM were all you needed. None of this 5 Gb video nonsense. You kids today are soft and got it too easy nowadays!

I have had it for nearly a week now.
Nearly finished it...its stunning

sort of halflife meets system shock 2 meets event horizon

and it does need a beefy system to run im running it at 1024x768 at ultra high quality (which it states needs a 512mb graphics card to run)

Im runnin it on my machine

Dual Xeons@ 3.5ghz each
ATI 9800xt 256mb
1gb PC3200

It can get a bit choppy at times when there is like 20 baddies on screen....(lot of spider things! and other monsters throwing fireballs at you) but for most part i get a stead 35fps

Although this is a seriously demanding game i dont think my pc has had a gaming workout like it. My graphics card was overheating because of it and i have side off now and 2 x 120mm fans mounted outside of case blowing in.

Works great now though [img]images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif[/img]

I would recommend this game definetly and prepare to be scared the atmosphere in it is intense and ID certainly know their shit now about how to make you replace your underwear [img]images/smilies/smile.gif[/img]

I suppose it will suffice....until Half Life 2 comes out [img]images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif[/img]

It runs smooth on what I have ( PIV 2.8 Hyperthreading, 512 RAM, 180 GB SATA HD, and an ATI Radeon 9800 I flashed into a 9800 Pro)...With everything turned on (FSAA..HQ graphics, at 1280x1024...yes..you would need the beef...), but it is a captivating storyline so far!! [img]images/smilies/icon_thumb.gif[/img]

Ive got it and I have the specs but it wont run. Kinda pisses me off. I have updated all drivers and directx. Still wont go. GRRRR

I feel your pain my brother...worked like a charm for me..did you uninstall the video driver before the updates? It helps and turn off Anti-virus when doing it...hell..that's what they say to do anyway...good luck my friend. [img]images/smilies/icon_thumb1.gif[/img]
