Fav, Books
Im an avid reader and Im always looking for some good books to enrich my life, list your fav. books here. Here are some of mine:
1. Sphere by Michael Crichton: This book had me going "what the huh??!!" all the way through it and I read it in like 2 sittings. Amazing sci-fi book (terrible movie).
2. Lord of the Rings Trilogy by Tolkien: My 3rd grade teacher read us the Hobbit and since then I was hooked on it.
3. 1984 by George Orwell: This book is great is your in a bad mood and want a pick me upper.
4. Brave New World by Alduous Huxley: (Same as above)
5. The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand: Very inspirational for selfish loners.
6. Animal Farm by Orwell: What can I say, this dude writes good books.
7. Needful Things by Stephen King: Best thing this guy ever wrote.
8. Speed Mechanics for Lead Guitar by Stetina: A classic.
9. The Great and Secret Show by Clive Barker: Reading this book is like ingesting bad lsd during a Residents concert and getting kidnapped on your way home by Santa Claus only to be thrown into a funhouse hall of mirrors on Venus. Pure genius.
Thats all the really good books I can think of at the moment.
Oh yeah someone told me to check out the Gormenghast trilogy, does anyone know if this is any good?

Re: Fav, Books
A couple I read fairly recently:
1. Against the Dead Hand Brink Lindsey
2. The Future and Its Enemies Virginia Postrel
3. Atlas Shrugged Ayn Rand
4. Capitalism & Freedom Milton Friedman
Also picked up a couple of really nice leatherbound classics: the complete works of Poe & Shakespeare. You can't go wrong with either of those.

Re: Fav, Books
I'm back to re-reading Stephen King's The Dark Tower, only cuz I got the latest in the series for Christmas, and then got the very newest book recently.
So I just want to catch up before I plough in again. Familiarise myself with the characters again. Roland of Gilead. To me, this is the best that the guy has ever written !

So, I am halfway through The Gunslinger, book 1 in the series once again. Only another 4 to go before I can start reading the new stuff !
