Favorite Music Related Movie?

This topic was spurred by a converstation with Mondola last night. What's your favorite music related movie, ala La Bamba, Spinal Tap, Bad News? I'd like to throw a movie in called Still Crazy. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. [img]images/smilies/afro.gif[/img]

Spinal Tap is where it all starts, but if you can find them, check out Bad News and Still Crazy.(Especially if you're an old school metal-head like me.) You'll definitely be able to relate.

Bad News were great. It's given me the kick up the arse to try and find them again.

Now you're all gonna smack me down, but I had a blast recently watching The Sound Of Music with a gay guy, my wife and a bottle of Aftershock. I tell you, that was a funny night. My gay friend and my wife know the film off by heart, but the gay friend, his name is Dan, pointed out the very many holes in the film.

We had a right old Aftershock fuelled laugh. Okay, you had to be there, but bloody hell, it was funny.

Anyway, as for other music related ones, I liked Almost Famous, Moulin Rouge was good. However, you can't beat Spinal Tap !!!

Almost famous was really cool in my opinion ! .. and of course spinal tap is just brilliant

i saw another movie about a fictional band that were popular in the 70's but hadn't played together for 20 eyars and came back for a reuinion tour and they were called strange fruit or something and it had billy conolly in it . really funny !

My personal favorite has to be Crossroad. And not the Britney Spears one.

There was an article in Guitar World about this topic along time ago. It had some great movies and some not so great movies listed.

I think this is the Still Crazy one that VanMan is talking about. Has lots of Auf Wiedersehen Pet actors in it as well (Jimmy Nail, etc.)

Never saw Spinal Tap, but I did love "Almost Famous."
"The Wall" was pretty spacey.....but I would put that in another category as well as the Beatles "Yellow Submarine." But speaking of that...the take on Sargent Pepper with peter Frampton was pretty good as well...(except for The BG's of course).....

Crossroads, Spinal Tap and I suppose Roadhouse with Patrick Swayze could be considered a music film with Jeff Healey blasting it out on stage? Taking it one step further and looking at music videos that may as well be films, the best one I've seen is 'The Making Of Pump' by Aerosmith. It shows the driving force that Tyler is...he plays guitar, drums, bass and piano...what a star!
