Gran Turismo 4 vs N4SUnderground 2
For driving games what do you guys think? Gran Turismo 4 comes out in a month, is it worth buying a PS2 for. I know it's a tough question considering it's not out yet, but from the strength of previous Gran Tuismo games & the hype around the new one I thought I would ask for opinions. The screenshots and tv commercials look unreal. 500+ cars.
Also Need 4 Speed Underground 2 just came out. I can get this one for the PC. Is this worth it? I have heard mixed reviews on this game. Does it even come close to the Gran Turismo series? Anybody tryed it yet?

Well this will really depend on what type of car racing you like.....GT 4 of course is road racing with various cars from Some street racing to oval courses to road rallies. NFSU 4 is your street racing market both games will be exceptional for thier specific target markets. I personally have uber-pwned all the Gran Turismo games and will look forward to the 4th installment. So whatever your particulars are for racing is the game you should go with because both games should be quite good.

Gran Turismo is more realistic and sim-like. Need 4 Speed is more arcade-ish. I personally like Gran Turismo better for the realism of it. GT3 was totally awesome, and there is no way GT4 would not kick-ass!

Well, I'm a Gran Turismo fan. I think it's been summed up in that Gran Turismo is more realistic, and Nedd For Speed is more arcade like. However, they are both excellent games.
The reason I plug for Gran Turismo is because with Need 4 Speed, I've not really been blown away from one release to the next. The gameplay is pretty much the same, with enhanced graphics.
As for Gran Turismo, I remember getting the first version and thinking that it was so realistic, they could not possibly top it. Then the second one came out with all the rally modes and training and tweaking options, and it was such an awesome game. Then out comes Gran Turismo 3. And I was blown away yet again. They just keep outdoing themselves with the games.
Plus, they never get old. Gran Turismo is always the game that goes in the PS2 whenever some friends come around and we battle it out with various cars. I've still not completed it, as I don't play the games none stop as I used to.
So for me, Gran Turismo 4. And definitely worth buying a PS2 for. I was begrudging having to get a PS2 just for one game when Gran Turismo 3 came out. Then I played it, and then that was my birthday present from the wife that year !

My favorite car is the Mitsubishi FTO AWD racing version, I won it after winning some indurance race.
I also like the Pikes Peak racer, that thing totally moves ass... It pretty easy to win the rally races with it: leave it on full throttle!

I don't have many Formual 1 cars. I have the Toyota one... Do you win those in the indurance races? I've done a couple indurance races, but it pisses me off because I always get the 1 car I didn't want! I have every Skyline! I'd like to get the XJ220 road racer...
Do you know what cars are gonna be on GT4? I've seen a few lists, but nothing "official"

No i have'n't seen anything "official" yet myself........and yes you get those running the endurance races.........way way too much time on my hands........

Do you have the S license? I have all except that one... I always miss the bronze time by less than a second... seriously frustrating! :icon_cry:

i hope this comment posts ... last time i tried it didnt .. i typed out a full fucking speech too the bastard ahahaha .. but yeah .. both games will kick ass .. but for me .. i take need for speed hot pursuit 2 over any other racing game around .. it just handles exactly how i want a racing game to handle and it looks stunning and the cars are gorgeously real looking rednitions of all the best super cars . try it out . im telling ya it kicks ass

Well it looks like GT4 just got postponed until early 2005. Oh well, looks like I'll have to check out N4SU 2.
As for a car list check out the GTplanet site. They have a ton of lists, pics & videos of all the Gran Turismo cars & tracks.
