Hero

Has anyone seen this yet? I mean with a title like "Quentin Tarentino presents 'Hero'" there's like a 90% probability that the movie is going to rock. But in case it doesn't, could someone let me know?

Re: Hero

It's supposed to be really great. It's actually 2 years old and you can buy the DVD already on eBay.
It's supposedly heavily-edited too and doesn't stand up to the original-version.

That's not what the IMDb says...

Miramax, the distributor, apparently cut out 20 minutes from the movie because they found that part to be "too Asian and confusing" for western audiences. Then-Miramax honcho Harvey Weinstein made a deal with Quentin Tarantino that he'd release the film uncut if Tarantino would allow a "Quentin Tarantino Presents" tag at the beginning of the film. Tarantino agreed.

So I guess Quentin has nothing to do with it...

Re: Hero

Leefer-Yeah, I figured Quentin didn't really do much but endorse the movie, and although I have yet to see any movies from the Tarantino endorsement collection, I reckon that there's a good chance of them being pretty good.

Whats with Miramax chickening out like that?
Oh yeah, and Im confused, so did they edit the movie or not?

I haven't seen the trailer, but you said that it said "Quentin Tarantino presents", so I would assume they didn't

Re: Hero

I went to see it and thought it was good but had no idea it had subtitles and found it hard to follow because they went by so fast. Note to Quentin; a fucking sentence takes longer than 1.5 seconds to read Even though it's a good show I would have never gone knowing this, too much time spent trying to read fast talking Chinese which made it too hard to watch the action.
