Movie Discussion
in this thread we will discuss movies that we weren't quite sure about because i know when i watch a movie and don't understand it it eats at me and i have to know what happened! so ill kick us off:
WARNING: DON"T READ THE MESSAGE IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE, IT WILL SPOIL IT OTHERWISE!!
K-PAX:
i just watched it yesterday, now i wanna know in the end, is the whole point that Kevin Spacey was sent down to earth to inhabit Robert Porters body so that people in the world namley the phsychiatrist would understand what happened to him and would be able to take care of him?
Fight Club:
if anyone didn't understand this then ill fill you in, its not about what you think it is about the first time you watch it, sure its about a crazy man that invents a alter ego but its also about the strugle against corporate america, one was a slave to it (Ed Norton) and one was against it (brad pitt) listen to brad pitt speak and it all falls into place
Pulp Fiction:
It is a biblical story, its not about what it is about on the surface, Vice Vega and Julz are angels and the three guys with the suitcase are devils advicates, they have marcellos wallaces' soul in that suitcase, (notice the back of his neck in mythology, when the devil takes your soul he takes it out of the back of your neck)
ok lets start by discussing these three movies, and please if anyone can answer my question on K-PAX please do...cheers!

I never saw K-Pax because I heard it wasn't very good.
Fight Club was pretty good and Pulp Fiction is one of the best movies ever made!

I try not to delve too deeply into some movie's meanings. I would rather just enjoy them without having too think too much. lol

Theres not meant to be anything in the briefcase in pulp fiction. Tarantino just wanted to leave it open to the imagination. And the bandaid on marcelluses neck is there to cover up a scar that Ving Rhames has.

FIGHT CLUB
Actually, I have a question concerning the ending of Fight Club. Now if I remember right, in Brad Pitt's last scene, Brad Pitt shoots himself in the head with a .45 Magnum. Pitt, being that other guy's alter-ego, obviously can not physically shoot himself in the head, and thus, the real man (the guy thats not Pitt) must have shot himself in the head. Shouldn't the real man have become slighlty living-impaired upon taking a shot to the head?
PULP FICTION
Hmm, I suppose if we're going to read too much into a movie, this would be a great movie to do it (best movie eva'!). So let's see, Vince and Jules are angels. I assume we're talking something along the lines of the angels of Chirstian mythology. That is, beings purposefully created to serve the will on the Christian god. Im not really up to snuff on my bible studies, but from what I recall, Vince and Jules behavior don't really evidence the fact that they are angels. Not that angels can't do some rather horrible things (i.e. the angel of death), it's just that the dialogue between Jules/Vega and other scenes of the movie tend to suggest that they are human.
First, at one point in the movie the couple has a discussion over divine intervention, remarking that god came down from heaven and stopped bullets for them. If they were really angels, they would probably have the authority to stop the bullets themselves w/o relying on any act of god. Additionally, why would god stop the bullets from shooting his Jules and Vincent if they were angels, since angels are immortal beings, there would be no need for god to stop the bullets.
Second, why would god care if Marcellus, murderous kingpin, sold his soul to the devil?
Third, why would God order Vega to murder Bruce Willis. Because he rigged a boxing match? Sounds a little to old testament to me.
Fourth, hmm to late, I'm going to bed. Enjoy.

As much as I like Tarantino, I don't think he's got it in him to have such any such messages in his movies.

ulnarian, for fight club, he doesn't shoot himself in the head he shoots himself through the cheak, he only needs his mind to know that he was shot in the head.
and pulp fiction, i don't have answers to all of that but i can add info to it. i don't belive that it is how it seems, but when god did stop the bullets this was their clue to what was going on, therefore one stopped all the killing (julz) and one continued (vince) the one that stopped lived and the one that kept going died.
ill try and find some info to help with the questions

there it is, i found something. oh and it says something about nowhere in the bible does it say that the devil takes you sould from the back of your neck, thats correct but it is in alot of stories and myths which are not in the bible, im sure youve heard them before
