I had a 3 way tie...I loved Armageddon, and thought the Independence Day film was the best released on that date....i chose Apollo13 though...it was just a great performance..loved that one. But of all of those 3 very close...

Well, I doubt you were talking about the War of the Worlds released in the 60's and I haven't seen the new one. I voted perfect storm. Apollo 13 was also cool but the rest of those movies just don't do it as much for me. Rise of the Machines was decent but the rest are kind of blah. The part that really got me about perfect storm was seing it after I saw a documentary on the real thing. So I knew what was going to happen and it was rather sad watching them try so hard.

T2 was the only movie I liked out of those. Not my genre I guess.
Haven't seen war of the worlds tho.

Had to go with Independence Day. I must have seen that movie 4 times in the theater (and it is the last movie I can recall waiting in line an hour for). The first time I saw it, my mouth was wide open from those fx. I'd never seen fx that cool before, that part where the US Airforce is taking on that mother ship and their fighting with like a zillion little fighter ships MMMmm.

I would say a tie between Armaggeddon, Apollo 13 and Terminator 2. I thought Terminator 2 was awesome when I first saw it.
I hated A Perfect Storm, only because it was so drastic. Disaster after disaster after disaster. It totally drained and depressed me. I know it's not supposed to be a happy film, but man, it was just so distressing watching it and thinking, "What the fuck can happen to them now ?"
Hmmm, I think I'll have to go for Terminator 2, although the other two I tied with were equally as smashing !

Oh p.s., I haven't seen War Of The Worlds yet...

Apollo 13 here too, just because it is real..............I like independence day also, but Will Smith has been getting on my nerves lately, prolly because my daughter watches reruns of Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
