Nintendo Wii

I am pretty hyped about the new nintendo system. the controllers look awesome, i saw a promo of the new tony hawk game/dargonballz and thought the way the controllers worked with them were cool, really more interactive, and for 250.00 and the ability to download the old nintendo games I'll probably start with that. The graphics were pretty cool too, i heard it had the most interest at the game convention. just can't drop 650.00 for a ps-3, I'm getting a hi-fi TV first.
I'll eventually get the ps-3 but the wii is the best bang for the buck and has a slew of games (not just kiddie games as some insist), don't overlook this system. Comes out in October.

Goport will become famous soon enough
The Wii is classic nintendo. At least this console will get kids up off their fat asses and get a little aerobic exercise while they are playing

ya, the system will come ready/compatible for GC games, as well as they can play dvds. remember that's the price, not sure if it comes with a game, and various adapter you'll need. not sure of the memory, if it will use cards or not.
Still It says somthing when all these pro gamers had a line for 5-10 min. wait for ps-3/xbox, and hours for nintendo. not dissin the other systems cause i think all three have cool qualities.
My point is check this bad boy out , I just don't think nintendo is throwing in the towel yet, and i hope they defeat sony.

"Nintendo has announced the price point for its new living-room console, the Wii, which will be launched globally in Q4 2006. Although for now the pricing is not exact, it will not exceed $250 in America or 25,000 yen in Japan. No estimate was announced for the European market, but the indication given was that it would be a "similar, affordable price."

In addition, Nintendo said it will soon release details on the Virtual Console, and "exact launch dates." Nintendo's wording of the "launch dates" is ambiguous--it could refer to Wii games alone, or it could mean a staggered launch of the system, or both. Regardless of when the launch happens, the publisher said it expects to ship 6 million consoles before the end of March 2007, as well as 17 million games.

The news comes hot on the heels of an earlier posting by the company of a 19 percent drop in annual profits, and a warning that results for the current financial year would be 3.5 percent lower than previously thought.

However, Nintendo still expects sales to grow by 18 percent globally, based on continuing sales of the Nintendo DS, and hopes for a successful Wii launch. The DS Lite, a new, sleeker version of the twin-screen handheld, is due to launch on June 11 in America and June 23 in Europe, and new key titles such as New Super Mario Bros. will no doubt cause sales spikes globally.

Nintendo's pricing decision will compare directly with key Japanese rival Sony, whose PlayStation 3 console will ship for a significantly higher price at around the same time, and will cost up to $599 for the top-end model."

^^ The above was quoted from http://www.gamespot.com/ds/action/su...ml?sid=6151827

I for one don't like Sony or any of the other competitors. First off, Graphics, The Graphics are amazing on Nintendo compared to other consoles. Second, the price is affordable. Thrid, the controlers are usually state of the art, and Nintendo usually is the first to start new features, for example the "Rumble" function on controlers or the "360 degree movable joy-stick" on the controlers, Nintendo was first to do that all and other competitors copied Them.

Personally I can't wait for Wii to come out, I already reserved "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess"

They have 2 versions coming out, 1 for Gamecube and 1 for Wii

Peace, Joe

Nintendo has kept the hardware details of the upcoming Wii console firmly under wraps for quite some time now while their competitors have bared all. Thankfully, NEC and MoSys have verified that the Wii will be equipped with both 1T-SRAM and eDRAM memory. MoSys will supply extremely high performance memory to be used as the main system RAM in the Wii. Memory speeds aside, I guess what gamers really want to know is how fast IBM's PowerPC-based CPU can go and the numbers churned out by ATI's "Hollywood" GPU that will be used in the Wii. All this uncertainty makes waiting for November to roll around even more torturous.

ive been screwed by nintendo 2 times already in the pre-release hype, though the price sure beats the competitions release prices. I expect quality to be similiar if not better.....its just all the focus to "kiddie games" hopefully they will consider the adults this time

Personally, I see a wide selection from this console, not just "kiddie games"

Example: they are making the godfather, far cry, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (which they did a lot of work on not to make it look like a "kiddie game" like The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker)

Ciao, Joe

Personally I don't think those look like kid's games to me. That is an image from the Medal of honor: Airborne game, and the Resident Evil game.

Ok, so there might be half "kiddie games" but what is the other half? Just because they don't have a Top Gun or a Jet fighter game, doesn't mean they won't later on. First of all I don't even think Nintendo has those games for GameCube or any of the other systems they have.

Ok yes, My previous post was out of context, but I was just trying to make a point that it is not all "kiddie games" Like a lot of people say.

Ciao, Joe

a more clearer point is Nintendo cube and wii never had any of those crime games ive heard on Playstation...shooting cops..stealing their cars..etc...now thats fun

i have Top Gun for Cube...awesome game
also Need for speed 2 and 3
Resident evil 3 (preview of wii looks like same game)
star wars , call for duty
waverace (kiddie but awesome)
Starfox...what a joke!...mistake buying this one but from 50 to 20 bux, i grabbed it desperate for a new game

so dont get me wrong, ive use only their systems over the years...but i feel ripped off

Well first of all you can't say Wii Never had any of those games, for it isn't even out yet, as for GameCube you can say that, but not Wii.
