RIP Marlon Brando
Marlon Brando Dead At 80
Source: A/P
July 2, 2004, 11:35 AM EDT
Marlon Brando, who revolutionized American acting with his Method performances in "Streetcar Named Desire" and "On the Waterfront" and went on to create the iconic characterization of Don Vito Corleone in "The Godfather," has died. He was 80.
Brando died at an undisclosed Los Angeles hospital Thursday, attorney David J. Seeley said Friday. The cause of death was being withheld, Seeley said, noting the actor "was a very private man."
Brando, whose unpredictable behavior made him equally fascinating off the screen, was acclaimed the greatest actor of his generation, a two-time winner of the Academy Award who influenced some of the best actors of the generation that followed, among them Al Pacino, Robert De Niro and Jack Nicholson.
He was the unforgettable embodiment of the brutish Stanley Kowalski of "A Streetcar Named Desire," the mixed up Terry Malloy of "On the Waterfront" (which won him his first Oscar) and the wily Corleone of "The Godfather.

Oh man that is bad news. I've always loved Brando's work, especially in the Godfather!

Re: RIP Marlon Brando
christ almighty...who gives a rat's ass if he was gay, straight, bi, or asexual. no one here can claim to know anything personal about the man but one can say whether or not they enjoyed his acting. I thought he was an incredible actor who was very versatile and who had very apparent passion for his craft and it shows in his films. Apparently other actors share the same view as he was highly regarded and emulated by his peers.

Re: RIP Marlon Brando
Yeah what a great actor, the godfather was one of his best roles. And I hope his family makes it through this ok.

Re: RIP Marlon Brando
my main point was that he wasnt a very nice person . i dont care if a guy is gay . makes no difference to me . but the guy was not a nice man . if i am not allowed to have my own opinions then why bother saying anything at all ? . sure he was possibly the best actor who ever lived . but he was a nasty peron you guys . i dont think any amount of acting talent can make up for being purely mean . and arrogant . i wasnt bashing him .i was telling you just incase you did not know . the guy was arrogant and mean . so why praise him ?

Re: RIP Marlon Brando
and eric i honestly see nothing wrong with my comment . i know it not quite the same but here is an example .. if saddam husein died . would you care ? ... i dont think youl would man .. cause he was mean and nasty . admitadly brando was likely much less mean and much less nasty . but still he wasnt nice . if you are upset by the fact that this doesnt bother me then i dont know what to tell you .
