I heard an interview with Stan Lee and he said they are planning to make six movies, each one better than the last.

Re: Spiderman 2
I'm really looking forward to it, out on 15th July here. I really loved the 1st one too !!!
I had a really in depth discussion about this with a mate at a wedding. I was really p*ss*d at the time, but the general themes I remember were :
<ul type="square">[*]Spiderman is the greatest superhero of them all[*]This is because he fought one of the strongest baddies, whose name I forget, but he apparently turns up early in this 2nd movie[*]The movies closely follow the comics
I never realised this until this conversation, and although I can't totally recall it I now realise even more why it was such a success.
Anyway, regadless of how closely it follows the comics and whether or not he was the greatest of them all, I really enjoyed the 1st, and am eagerly anticipating this sequel.

Re: Spiderman 2
Ok, my $.02. Be warned: SPOILERS
This is the movie that should've been the first one. It exceeded it in every respect. A better villain (it even bested the comic-book's version!). Better CGI. Better acting. Better pacing. Even the score, which seemed subdued in the first one, worked even better. No Macy Gray. Excellent all around.
Pros:
Even though I find him tiresome, Alex Ross' opening-titles sequence.
Doc Ock's escape from the operating-room. Evil Dead fans will go ape-shit over the camera-angles!
Anytime Spidey/Peter fell off of a building or when swinging after he would lose his powers.
Spidey's costume overhaul.
The (nearly) spotless use of CGI.
The great use of side characters such as Harry Osborn and Aunt May.
JK Simmons performance as J.Jonah Jameson. I don't think he could ever be replaced!
Bruce Campbell's cameo.
The return of Kirsten Dunst's nipple.(She seemed a bit flatter in this movie but more than made up for it near the end when she was held captive.)
Robbie Robertson's quiet suspicion of Peter being Spidey.
Ditto for Aunt May?
No Macy Gray.
Cons:
Why it was so damned necessary to have Spidey take off his mask and to be seen by dozens of bystanders. I realize they needed to show his expression in saving the train, but couldn't he have put it back on real quick?
The sloppy CGI shot of Doc Ock being pulled underwater with the pier.
There weren't alot of "quips" from Spidey.
The Uncle Ben dream.
Spidey using "web-bullets". Kinda lame. I'd rather he just web the guns out of their hands.
All of the shitty artists used in the soundtrack. Thankfully, I don't think I heard any of the songs used during the movie save for the ending credits.
The supposed subplot of that Russian(?) anorexic-chick who has a crush on Peter.
No (oft-rumored) Gwen Stacy cameo.

Re: Spiderman 2
Spider-Man 2 Breaks Opening Day & Wednesday Record
Source: Columbia Pictures
Sony Pictures Entertainment's Spider-Man 2 established a new industry record for opening day box office receipts with an estimated $40.5 million in ticket sales, it was announced today by Jeff Blake, Vice-Chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment and President of Worldwide Marketing and Distribution for the Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group. Spider-Man 2 debuted yesterday in 4,152 theaters.
"We are off to a phenomenal start on what looks to be a magical six days for Spider-Man 2," said Jeff Blake, Vice Chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment, and President of Worldwide Marketing and Distribution. "Spider-Man 2 may be the best reviewed film of the year, and now it's clearly being loved by audiences as well. Sam Raimi and the producers and cast have delivered a great film."
The $40.5 million figure shatters the existing opening day record of $39.4 million set by the original Spider-Man, which opened in May, 2002. The film also set a new record for openings on a Wednesday.

Re: Spiderman 2
I just got home from seeing this movie.. 1 word... FANTASTIC!!!!!!!...... GO SEE THIS MOVIE.. The fight sceens outdo the first one,,,, they have alot of killer comedy clips going on in the movie that make you laugh,, and to me,, the plot as a whole was more well rounded in my honest opinion... more work definitely went into the making of this film.. the villian octavious did a great job in this movie. definitely worth the money to go see in the theaters.

Re: Spiderman 2
Me and my bro went to see this last night ! First night in England apart from the glitzy Premiere. A midnight showing. So everyone had had a few beers and the place was packed. This meant the atmosphere was brilliant. Lots of real fanatics in Spidey shirts. Everyone was laughing, oohing, ahhing and jumping throughout the movie.
Review ?
OH MY GOD !!!! This movie is fantastic. Like has already been said, there were only a few moments of CGI where it's a but lame and it makes you realise you're watching a movie once again, but it's only a couple of moments. As opposed to Matrix : Reloaded where throughout the film I just couldn't get into it because the CGI was soooo obvious, it didn't blend in.
But anyway, go and see this film. I didn't read any of the spoilers for this film, so I didn't know what to expect, but it was brilliant !
I also enjoyed "the nipple", but I have re\l difficulty fancying Kirsten, cuz I am reminded of the little girl in Interview With A Vampire !!!
