I don't think it's AI that is racist because they gave these people a chance. I just think that putting the vote in Americas hands can sometimes yeild bad results. i.e. Ruben Studdard. His brother admitted that the people in his family would vote for him until the phone lines closed. Not to mention that the Black community will support (votes) a brother or sister much more than a white person will support another white person. People of color long to see other people of color do good and RISE. Ala~ Halle Berry's Grammy win being so big because she was the first black woman to win a Grammy and it was such a step for the Black community. All that said, Ruben won, but was not the best choice. Fantasia on the other hand is doing fairly well in her genre. We just don't hear about it much because it's not POP... 10 40 or whatever the AI music would be.

OK, just finished watching. Only a few thoughts that stood out to me....
It still infuriates me that Simon gets to be on this show and gets to say whatever his ego desires, despite my opinion that he really does not have much of anything valuable to add to improve any of these contestants. Seriously, I am so not impressed with most of what comes out of his mouth (and I say that retrospectively, as I have watched this show fairly regularly for the last 3 years). His opinions are from left field and rarely ever add anything constructive. He is basically a ratings mechanism for the show.....a gimmick, if you will. Randy, in my eyes, is still the closest thing to an accurate, EFFECTIVE judge. He keeps things in check while offering fairly valuable and accurate advice about how the contestants could improve themselves in the competition, which in my opinion is what the point of the process of this show is all about. He is not 100% with his take on things, but more-so than either Simon or Paula, and most of what he says I can think, "yeah, I guess I agree with that). Simon just likes to hear himself talk and does so drawing from a bank of nonsense commentary. If anything, I have concluded it best to look at him as comic relief. He would actually do himself a favor, as far as credibility as a "music critic", were he to balance out the people he liked vs. the people he disliked. Only liking 1 or 2 out of 10 performances makes people start to think that your yardstick of what is good is distorted and not relevant. Anyway, next week, I think that I am going to experiment with hitting the mute button when he gives his commentary and turning the volume back on during everything else, and enjoying the good parts of this program.
Secondly, I am disappointed that the judges are eating up Ace Young's falsetto crap. I was watching the show with Amie and her brother, and I basically replicated Ace's falsetto singing parts and they thought it pretty much sounded just like him. Falsetto is often-time a crutch, to hide the fact that you cannot reach that range with a normal voice having a pure high pitch range. Perhaps he could go on to be like the Bee Gees or like Justin Timberlake ripping off Michael Jackson. I think he has some decent talent, and is a young teen girl's dream, so he might be good to make some records and do some tours, as a money maker. But don't expect him to win this contest were this a radio competition where it was judged by the ear alone.
And of course, I still root for Chicken Little, as he has true confidence, or perhaps a lack of unneccesary self doubt that most people his age have. The gray haired guy could possibly clean up in this competition (or at least go really far into it) if he would just bite his pride and purchase a box of Grecian Formula. It is all i can do to focus on his incredible voice to block out of my mind that salt'n'pepper top. Just dye that shit already!!!
Holy cow, I've rambled too long here, yet still haven't covered all my thoughts. Oh well, talk amongst y'selves.

Best Performance of the Night: Taylor Hicks
Worst Performance of the Night: The Chicken Little kid
My summary. Taylor is so badass, and he's my prediction to go ALL the way this year. Chris Daughtry was OK. Nothing spectacular from him tonight. Still, my two cuts for the guys:
Chicken Little (that dude has to go. I agree on the confidence kc, but he just cant sing. Everytime he sings, his showmanship and voice, and I'm pulling a Simon Cowell here, sounds like a 7th grader picking a microphone up for the first time at a Junior High talent show. Sorry, I just don't like him).
Bucky Covington ('Nuff said)

The first guy (rocker) was great, the gray headed guy (sang MM song) was great, and that Bucky guy was good. The rest bored me to tears.
That Falsetto crap from pretty boy sounded rediculous and that little geeky kid is horrible.
I agree totally with KC about Simon. His opinions are a joke.

GIRLS~
Paris~ She sang CONGA. I wasn't at all impressed. I didn't like the arrangement and I didn't like her vocals on it. I liked her older look and her hair though. She started out strong in the competition and has pretty much settled somewhere in the the middle.
Lisa~ She sang WHERE I STAND. Another boring song choice from her. I have to wonder if she can rock? Maybe she can't move? I didn't like their attemot at straigtening her curls either. Another young one that started out strong and lost it along the way.
Melissa~ She sang WHAT ABOUT LOVE. Melissa is one of my faves amoungst the females. I think she did a nice job with the song but blew the last note.
Kinnik~ She sang IF I DON'T HAVE YOU. What was she thinking? NO ONE sings Alicia Keys like Alicia keys and NO ONE can sing it better or even as good as Alicia so it came off pretty poor to my ears. She's gone tonight.
Buh Bye...
Katherine~ She sang THINK. She is another one that I like. (Obviously not as much as WOLF does ) I loved her vocals. I loved her look. I just think she needs to try not to be so giddy.
Ayla~ She sang UNWRITTEN. I'm tossed up on this one. It was an interesting vocal but I'm not sure if that's good or bad. I'm just confused.
Mandisa~ She sang I'M EVERY WOMAN. First off, I'm a big Mandisa fan, secondly, I'm a HUGE Chaka Kahn fan so this was the performance of the night for me. Mandisa did this sone better than Whitney Houston's remake of it. My only complaint is that they need to keep Mandisa in skirts. Her legs are enormous and jeans just do not work on her.
Carrie~ She sang I'M THE ONLY ONE. It has to suck to follow Mandisa but she got through it. Carrie is growing on me. She's fun. She's perky without being giddy. I don't think she's the next idol but her pressence is needed in the show to keeo it interesting. As for her vocals, I felt she yelled the song.
Better watch out Guwapo, I think Simon wants to do her too!
So~ All that said, I'm certain Kinnik will go home tonight which basically save Paris because we have to have one Black girl in the competion to keep it PC.
I know Mandisa, Kelli are safe. That leaves Lisa, Melissa, Katherine, and Ayla... My second pic to leave is going to be Ayla, however it could be any of the four.

GUYS~
Gedeon~ He sang WHEN A MAN LOVES A WOMAN. I don't like this guy. I don't like his look, I don't like his voice and I don't like his attitude. I don't think he will be eliminated tonight but...

Chris~ He sang BROKEN. He was good tonight but not as good as last week. He came off a little too CREEDish for my liking. Still at the top just not #1 for me this week.
Kevin aka Chicken Little~ He sang Starry Starry night and he sang it beautifully. I liked it, but I wouldn't buy it. I see him in the next cast of RENT but not as the next AI. Not that that is a bad thing.
Bucky~ I don't know what song he sang. I have a hard time being interested in him and OMG! There's TWO of him! Bucky and Rocky... He was my least favorite of the night.
Will~ He sang HOW SWEET IT IS. I liked it but it was in fact merely a mediocre vocal. He's just cute and he reminds me of my son wjen he grows up. He could possibly go tonight but he wouldn't be my first pick.
Taylor~ He sang TAKIN' IT TO THE STREETS. He RAWKED! He was the best of the night. I dug the vocal, I dug the moves. He was so fun to watch. I just dig this guy. He kind of reminds me of Eddie Money. My #1 for the guys this week.
Elliot~ He sang Heaven. It was ok at the beginning and middle and got better at the end. His looks lose me but his vocals used to pull me back, this week, I stayed astray.
ACE~ He sanf BUTTERFLIES... FOXY FOXY FOXY!!! I liked his performance tonight all except for one note and at that point I was feeling like it was ACE on stage with Screetch's voice dubbed in. I liked the Falsetto in spite of it tho. We all know Ace is in the final 12.
So, let me break it down...
Ace is staying, Taylor is staying, Elliot is staying, Chris is staying.
Gedon is staying even tho I would send him packing.
That leaves Will, Bucky and Kevin. I'm going to say Will and Bucky will leave tho my choice would be Bucky and Gedeon
