Lol, I don't know why I never thought of this before, but I just saw The Star Wars Holiday Special for the first time on Google video.
HAHAHA, this is so awesome!!! I love this kinda far-out stuff! One wild ride.
If you've never seen it before, it was a tv holiday special that aired back in the 70's. It's got Luke and Hans and Leiah, ooohhh, yeah, it also has Bea Arthur!!, Art Carney, Jefferson Starship, and the Chewbacca family!!!!!
Man, this is one tripped out mess of a special. It's like a cross between, hell, I don't know, maybe: 2001, Land of the Lost, Critters (Chewbaccas's family is rather frightening), The Wizard of Oz (Luke Skywalker does a killer impersonation of Dorothy!), Nova, After School Special, Sesame Street, and a whole lot of bad.
Favorite Scenes: Definately the musical scores its hard to choose which is best:
Around 8 minutes we have the holographic green-fairies prancing about to a full-on Emerson/Lake/Palmer freakout! Wow, I think Grace Slick must have gotten behind the camera for this one.
Secondly, well, we have a disco-goddess literally fulfilling Chewbacca's pornographic fantasies while....flagellating about in full kalaiedoscopic vision!
