WEEKLY MOVIE NEWS
Sam Raimi Committed to Spider-Man 3 Source: Ain't-It-Cool-News Saturday, October 11, 2003
In a report on Ain't-It-Cool-News which says that Spider-Man director Sam Raimi may be up for a fourth " Evil Dead" film with Bruce Campbell, they also mention that the director looks to be set for a third Spidey film.
I've heard that Sony has already got Sam committed to doing SPIDER-MAN 3, though that hasn't officially broke yet. However, after SPIDER-MAN 2 thrashes every record that SPIDER-MAN set and as excitement reaches the TILT stage with SPIDER-MAN 3... there's a strong chance that the 4th EVIL DEAD could happen.

Director McG Gives a Superman Update Source: ComingSoon.net Friday, October 10, 2003
During a press conference for the upcoming "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" DVD, director McG gave an update on the Superman movie.
"I'm a big fan of 'Superman,' and you know, I'm discussing it with Warner Brothers, but it's still very uncertain," he said. "It's a big project and they're being very cautious, and I'm being very cautious and it's yet to be seen if it's in the cards."
McG also addressed the issue of why Superman has had so many false starts. "I think they want to be very respectful of the crown jewel of, you know, all their franchises," he added about the studio. "It's a great character. And I think everybody who would ever be a part of that type of picture wants to get it done properly. So I don't think they're in any rush to make that picture, and I think their focus is on doing it right."

A First Look at Pictures From Constantine Source: Straight to Hell Friday, October 10, 2003
Straight to Hell has a first look at pictures from Warner Bros.' Constantine. Here's how director Francis Lawrence describes the images...
"Constantine has a hardboiled detective edge and a punk Sid Vicious attitude; he smokes, he drinks and is sarcastic and wry. He's not a blond Englishman but the heart of the character, the attitude and the period he invokes is intact, as this was the most important thing for me to maintain."
You can check out two images of Keanu as John Constantine here and here, plus another picture of what his apartment will look like in the film here.

Bruce Willis to Return as John McClane in Die Hard 4 Source: Variety Monday, October 13, 2003
20th Century Fox has hired Mark Bomback to write Die Hard 4, which centers on the continuing adventures of rogue hero John McClane. Pending approval of the script, Bruce Willis would return in the role and produce through his Cheyenne Productions.
Bomback wrote the upcoming Godsend, starring Robert De Niro and Greg Kinnear, for Lions Gate Films. The scribe also worked with Cheyenne on Reunion, The Tourist and Me Again.
Fox envisions the film as a tentpole that could resume the franchise.

MGM Wants Steve Martin for Pink Panther Source: Variety Monday, October 13, 2003
MGM has offered Steve Martin the lead role of Inspector Clouseau in Birth of the Pink Panther, hoping that Martin will spearhead the rebirth of the comic franchise originated by Peter Sellers. Len Blum wrote the script for Montecito partners Ivan Reitman and Tom Pollock. If a deal can be worked out, Martin would star in the film in 2004.
MGM has been trying for years to rebirth the "Pink Panther" franchise, which placed bumbling crime fighter Inspector Clouseau in high-level crime situations that always resulted in strong pratfall and farcical comedy.
Blum's prequel script has the inept sleuth assigned to solve the murder of the nation's soccer team coach while investigating the disappearance of the legendary Pink Panther diamond. That bauble, the national treasure of the Eastern state of Lugash, frequently disappeared in the earlier Panther pics.

Originally published in 1952, the story takes place on a farm in Maine and concerns a pig named Wilbur and his devoted friend Charlotte, the spider who saves his life.

NEWS - Jack Wants To Play Ozzy
10/13/2003
(10/13/03, 3 p.m. ET) -- Red-hot actor Jack Black says he's the man to play Ozzy Osbourne in the long-awaited film version of the metal legend's life, according to the New York Post. In fact, Black made the case to Sharon Osbourne herself on her talk show this past Friday (October 10), telling Ozzy's wife that her husband "was a hero of mine as a kid and I have to say, I've been tracking the Ozzy film...if anyone's Ozzy, I'm Ozzy." Both Johnny Depp and Colin Farrell have been mentioned as possible actors to play Ozzy.
Jack Black's new movie, School Of Rock, debuted at Number One at the box office on the weekend of October 3, earning more than $20 million.
Ozzy, along with several other stars, will perform at London's legendary Royal Albert Hall on October 15, for Fashion Rocks For The Prince's Trust. All proceeds from the event go to the Prince's Trust, England's leading charity for young people.
Osbourne and his daughter Kelly will perform their rendition of Black Sabbath's "Changes" on an upcoming episode of the Sharon Osbourne Show. The duet appears on the new edition of Kelly's 2002 debut album Shut Up, which has been re-released by Sanctuary Records. The disk was originally released by Epic Records, who dropped Kelly late last year.

Halle Berry Talks Catwoman on Letterman! Source: A1ant Monday, October 13, 2003
Halle Berry just appeard on The Late Show with David Letterman and talked about Catwoman. Here's 'A1ant' with the update...
Halle Berry was a guest on THE LATE SHOW today! She was there promoting her upcoming film, GOTHIKA.
She got to talk a little bit about her upcoming CATWOMAN. She said that she's been very busy filming it, and when the host asked her what her super-powers are, Halle said that (I'm paraphrasing): "She doesn't have any super-powers, besides those of a big tiger or cat."
Something even more interesting...she went on to say that Patience Price isn't the only Catwoman. She is one of NINE Catwomen that have existed in the world, thus bringing in homages to the Cat-Women of the past (and others we have yet to hear about).
She also confirms that her character dies, like all previous the past Catwoman and is resurrected.
Halle will be appearing on many new programs this week also, so make sure to check them out, as she may reveal more interesting info:
10.13 - The Late Show (CBS)
10.14 - Late Night w/ Conan (NBC)
10.17 - 106th & Park (BET)
10.19 - SNL w/ Britney Spears

Re: WEEKLY MOVIE NEWS
Pulp Fiction 2: Quentin Tarantino gave an interview to New Zealand's Aotearoa News to promote "Kill Bill" and was asked about the status of the Vega Bros. movie which appeared dead after comments by Michael Madsen in July but may not be after all - "That's something I always planned on doing, but other projects took precedence. Ten years on , John Travolta's getting older, Michael's getting older. I don't think they'd even want to do it. Not that that's the last hope audiences have of seeing more of Vic or Vincent Vega. There's an idea I have a Pulp Fiction follow-up. Sequels generally suck, so it's nothing I want to rush into. But Bottom line the studio wants it, the fans want it. I'm sure I can compromise somewhere. It'd be my way of apologizing for never getting Vega Brothers off the ground I guess. That way, we could get John, we could get Michael, and we could get Sam and Tim...everyone back. It would be interesting to see whatever happened to Jules and his plans to 'walk the earth'. Hey, just having Michael and John in the same frame would be great. They're great. But that said, I got to write such a thing". QT is confirmed next to do the WW2 flick "Inglorious Bastards" and a potential "Kill Bill" prequel.
