I have found that I am very good at this. I could possibly already have a buyer for certain items. I just sold a 40th Anniversary Playboy
Fender Stratocaster that I purchased on Ebay and made a profit of over $2000. I already know of a buyer for a Harley Davidson 90th Anniversary Fender Stratocaster at a reasonable price. I am only interested in selling items that are in Great Condition, Mint if possible. If it is a limited edition custom shop guitar I would require that it have a certificate of Authenticity.
Here's the deal. Many buyers of very expensive items will not purchase from sellers that don't have much feedback. I wouldn't either. I have great feedback and I take very detailed pictures. The last one that I sold had 57 pictures on my Kodak Picture Gallery Link. It is also very time consuming to put things on Ebay. You have to constantly be available to answer questions and I would also list you guitar on two other guitar Web-sites, so maybe I would be able to sell it without having to pay all of the high final value fees associated with Ebay. I accept paypal, but on items of significant value I would only take payment of E-check,which takes about 3 business days to clear, or cashiers check sent to my address. I might look into accepting bid-pay ( where the purchaser of the item pays all of the fees). Credit card charges are very high if the seller accepts paypal credit card payment for valuable items. If you want to accept credit card payments, the fees would come out of your money. That would be fine with me.
You would have to let me know the minimum price that you would want to get for your guitar. You would have to pay to ship your guitar to my address via UPS with insurance for at least the minimum price and on high priced items UPS takes the item out of the package and inspects it to make sure that everything is packaged properly and really of the insured value. They also provide a tracking # so we both would know when it arrives at my address. We would have to agree upon lots of things prior to my agreeing to sell it. So, let me know what you've got and E-mail me pictures and your phone # and we can discuss things further. First E-mail me or send me a private message to get in touch with me and I'll get right back to you so that we can actually talk. You must register with Ebay for me to even consider. I know all about spoof scams and such....so I only use this E-mail address for this ad. I will also give you my Ebay user name and let you check out my feedback rating (it is 258 at the moment).
If you send your guitar to me to sell. I will keep it in a very safe place. Not my home address where people that are winning bidders on my other items would have the address of where the guitars are kept.
I am very trustworthy and I have made several great contacts here lately. I have sold several valuable guitars. I also would consider selling other items of significant value. If your item does not sell for the price agreed upon by the time limit that we agree upon. I would pay to ship it back to you by the same shipping method. You would only be out the cost of shipping to me and my selling fee ($200 and I accept Paypal). You can just make your starting price $200 higher to cover that. If your item sells, the final value fees and listing fees would come out of your asking price. If the item goes over the asking price, we would split in half the amount that it goes over, but the listing fees and final value fees would still come out of your portion. If you agree to accept credit card payments, that amount would also come out of your portion.
