SOLD/OUTDATED Wayne Guitars
Looking for some distributors. I spoke with Michael Charvel a few days ago and he said the dealers do a much better job of negotiating than he does. Right now Wayne guitars are about a year out on back order, and the one I want isn't around anywhere. May take some time to find it, but I will post once I can locate THE one I want

Re: Wayne Guitars
There was a new Warren DeMartini "Crossed Swords" Charvel @ the C/J booth at winter NAMM but I don't know which dealer got it.

Re: Wayne Guitars
Thanks man. That is what I am looking for. I know Warren licensed it to Wayne, but he is playing Premier guitars these days. Why license something you don't even play?

Re: Wayne Guitars
For that sweet sweet cash. Apparently most pro's (according to ed roman on his site) use ghost built guitars. Slash uses mostly ghost built guitars, same with ted nugent, and George Lynch's skull n bones guitar is made by J Frog.

Re: Wayne Guitars
Here's a beauty I found on the net... It's the 25th Anniversary Sam Dimas edition. It's basically a better quality version of the EVH art series guitars... And much cheaper for those who simply want a real good guitar... I'd love to get my hands on one... If anyone out there has played one - please provide details...

lol. I got the term off ed roman site. I should of explained when i posted. Well, its like a ghost writer. Using slash as an example, some guy in a small custom shop builds a guitar to les paul specifications (but using better quality materials and better worksmanship than a real gibson) and then because of endorsement deals, a gibson logo gets put on the headstock.

[/ QUOTE ]Quite true.
Slash's Appetite-era "Les Paul" standard was built by Pete Baranet of MAX Guitars in Hollywood (formerly Jabco Amp Crazy off Gardner and Sunset).
Incidentally, the target graphic on Zakk Wylde's "Holy Grail" Les Paul Custom is supposedly a MAX Guitars creation.

Re: Wayne Guitars
I bet the original San Dimas' were better than this ... I don't really know... At 4000 bucks though, I thought this model was essentially a better EVH Art Series guitar for less money... YOu could do the paint job yourself or pay someone to do it for ya after you biught it and still pay less than the minimum $5150 EVH was asking for... AS for the idea of spending 4000 on a guitar - well - I wouldn't do it but there are people out there who would... I was just suggesting a more reasonably priced Charvel than what EVH was offering...

[/ QUOTE ] Oh ya, the fact Edward is building and selling those neo-Frankies of his is more of a
"clever" marketing scheme to offset the pseudo-Phrankies that other luthiers are builiding and selling and without ANY compensation to him... whom we all know is the "original designer".
I don't think Ed is touting that his own kit guitars are in fact "superior in craftsmanship" persee` - basically they're just slapped together, taped and spray painted. It's just that Ed knows there is an "upscale" guitar-buying consumer market consisting of doctors, lawyers, actors, comedians (aka non-players) with virtually unlimited disposable income and who are going to snatch them up just because they're truly "EVH" built...
I agree that the Charvel 25th Anniversary is a nicely built and well-featured guitar in itself... I just have an issue with that guitar being marketed as a "San Dimas" model yet is not accurate to the real San Dimas-era Charvels, which incidentally didn't have 22 fret necks, laminated alder bodies and weren't coated in thick polyester.
I'd imagine the neck feels just like an American Standard Strat too... and for 4Gs to boot!!!!
