User Backing Tracks Only
From now on only select users will be able to upload backing tracks. This is to ensure that we have absolutely no copyrighted tracks posted on this site. You may reply to threads but starting topics and posting attachments are not allowed in this forum without screening and approval from the admin staff.
So Who Can Post Backing Tracks
Those who are known for creating their own backings and have posted their own BTs in the past have been given permission to upload.
How Do I Get Permission To Post My Backing Tracks
Fill out this form
http://www.guitars101.com/forums/form.php We will check it to be sure it's not copywrited. If it's ok, you will be granted permission to upload. Keep in mind that all backings will still be moderated to ensure no copywrited material mistakenly gets posted.
Use The Search
Please use the search feature at the top of the page before requesting a track. There's a good chance it's already here!!!
Posting Requests
Please use the request subforum to post your requests. Start a new topic for each request. There is a long line of requests and please understand that it may take some time before they are filled.
Posting Tracks On Other Sites
Please PM the creater of the backing for permission before posting backings on other sites. The BT creaters work hard on their creations. Posting these on other sites and taking credit for them is just wrong!
Posting Links To Other Sites
From now on, please get the site owner's (webmaster or whoever runs the site) permission before posting a link to their site here. If you are unable to get a reply, then don't post it. This way if they can't handle the bandwidth, we won't be held responsible in any way.
Attaching Files
When you post, near the bottom, click the
manage attachments button. Another smaller window will open. Click the
browse button to go to the file on your hard drive and then click the
upload button. While the file is uploading, you can continue to write in your post. The size limit for uploads is
9 megs.
How to shrink your MUSIC file size
1. Download this
http://download.com.com/3001-2140-10125657.html
2. Instal it etc...
3. In the program change the way it converts the file to LAME
4. Find your Mp3 you recorded, in WAV form!
5. Right click it
6. Click CONVERT TO
7. Choose Mp3(lame)
8. Since we have 4mb song upload limit keep it in Joint Stereo
9. Frequency: depends what you recorded song with either use 44100 or 22050
10. Bit Rate: Start at 128, if the file size is to big take it down to 112, repeat till it will upload at size you want.
11. Click Convert
12. Your done, you have your mp3 encoded.
13. OPTIONAL stuff: you can save your files as mp3's after your record it; this encoding is really useful for shrinking larger sized songs down. If you have an insanely large song put it in MONO.

Where Are The Backing Tracks?
With a nine meg limit files are always being removed to make room for more so they are often pulled to make room for new ones. If you have something you want post a request for it in the request subforum, or bump the thread asking for a repost... and keep checking back.
