UFO - Shoot Shoot
This track is based upon the version from the Strangers In The Night Live album.
No vocals or guitars - otherwise the full backing.
Let me know what you think.

Nice to know someone else likes these!
KSDB
I prepared the song in Cubase SX3 with the sound modules I have (and some played parts) so I'm afraid I've not got a MIDI file as such.
Is there something you would like to be a little different, or have you some particular purpose in mind I could help with?

That's from "Phenomenon" isn't it? I'm afraid I don't recall the tune and I've not got a copy of the album or song to work from. My UFO collection is limited to an old casette of "The Wild, The WIlling & The Innocent" (no Schenker, but one of their best) and the recent "The Best Of UFO" compilation and it's not on those.
The singer in my old band was a big UFO fan so I used to have access to his record collection (dates me a bit I guess), from which I grew to enjoy them; but since I had access I never bought. Sadly we lost track over time and I've not filled the UFO void.
I'll happily have a go at one from those I have if you wish.

Hi, I'm just thankfull that you did any UFO. Built for Comfort is a Willie Dixon tune that UFO did. It seems like is made for forum blues wanking. I don't have any recording software, but when I do get up to speed, ie - buy a computer that can handle the chores - I will try to help here as well.

Doctor Doctor should be relatively quick and easy to make a backing track for, there's a pretty good MIDI file I have for that from the web. I'll have a go over the next few days - watch this space.
I'm not familiar with "Cherry" either and I've no copy of "Obsession", sorry.

I'm an experimental type of person. I have a lot of different drumkit and organ soundfonts and would enjoy seeing how well some different sounds would work. Also, I would probably play the bass myself if I got around to covering the song. Does Cubase let you export Midi files (I haven't used Cubase)?

Cubase does allow export of MIDI files, But that would only be part of the story. For example, you'd be devoid of the instrument data as I've not used a GM module for any of it. Similarly, many of the parts are from positioned sounds or samples, this means you'd get half the file. It'd be basic kick, snare and hi hat, with bass line - all as notes, rather than a full MIDI file.

I've had a go at exporting "Shoot Shoot" as a MIDI file now, frankly it sounds awful! The drums seem mapped to congas - UFO play the mambo! While the bass line works, the other parts seem to do all sorts of strange things, wandering in tuning even!
Basically without the rest it's so poor I'm not comfortable to release it to the world. Sorry!

That's a shame. Thanks for checking though, you never know what you might learn about the software and how that knowledge can be applied to a future project. Thanks too, just for making the backing track available. I'm a big UFO fan (at least of the Michael Schenker days) and will enjoy jamming to the track you created.

I've posted a version of Doctor Doctor now in a new thread. Do let me know if you like it, or would like some changes.
