Aerosmith - Honkin on Bobo really smokes

I got he new Aerosmith album yesterday. If you are like me and were sick of their forray into the pop genre, rest assured, this will reset the clock on this great band.

Pop the CD in and it feels like it's Toy In The Attic and Mama Kin time again.
This albums smokes, burns rubber and is down and dirty as the blues that inspires it.

Tyler is on fire with his vocals and his extra dirty harmonica sound, Joe “Fucking” Perry is doing his thing with the usual guitar growl and great tone, Hamilton holds it together like glue, Brad is his old self backing and harmonizing as he should, and Joey pounds the skins like there's no tomorrow.

When Aerosmith does an album full of covers, the end result is still pure Aerosmith, no matter who penned the songs.
I am riding on air since I placed this sucker into the CD player.
By the way, this is an album that needs to be played loud. If you don't at first, you'll find yourself cranking it anyway and yelping alongside the Toxic Twins.

That's my mini-review.

I'm looking forward to this album CC. I reckon I'll buy it at the airport on my way out on Monday...Honkin on Bobo basically means playing the harmonica so I reckon on red hot blues covers right?

Red hot is the word, wahwah. It's blues standards, all balled up, Aerosmith-style.You just can't go wrong and as I said it, it will make me forget Just Push Play, which I refused to buy since it was so contrived and pop.

Yea I grabbed it the day it came out and was not disappointed at all. The cd is really hot blues down old school Aerosmith style. It's about time they did a cd like this, and I hope they can do an all original cd in the same vain the next time out.

Is it me or is Joey Kramer one of the most underrated drummers ever. I put this guy in that same class as Phil Rudd. He never does too much and take away from the song with all the crazy stuff. He just holds down that steady groove along with Tom, and they just let Joe and Brad do what they do.

I was really impressed at how good Steven's voice sounded on this cd, and I never get tired of the marriage between his voice and Joe's guitar. It's a great record, and I have tickets too see them in a few weeks but had too give em away cause I gotta work
