I got he new Aerosmith album yesterday. If you are like me and were sick of their forray into the pop genre, rest assured, this will reset the clock on this great band.
Pop the CD in and it feels like it's Toy In The Attic and
Mama Kin time again.
This albums smokes, burns rubber and is down and dirty as the blues that inspires it.
Tyler is on fire with his vocals and his extra dirty harmonica sound, Joe “Fucking” Perry is doing his thing with the usual guitar growl and great tone, Hamilton holds it together like glue, Brad is his old self backing and harmonizing as he should, and Joey pounds the skins like there's no tomorrow.
When Aerosmith does an album full of covers, the end result is still pure Aerosmith, no matter who penned the songs.
I am riding on air since I placed this sucker into the CD player.
By the way, this is an album that needs to be played loud. If you don't at first, you'll find yourself cranking it anyway and yelping alongside the Toxic Twins.
