I have to say Ace Frehley. When I think about Kiss I think Ace. He is probably not the best guitarist but he is my favourite  |

I mean sure the replacements were good, but not as good as the spaceman himself!

Technical Bruce is probably best, but Ace is original, his solos are classics which makes hem THE Kiss-guitarist.

I always felt that Ace's solos became distinct melodies within the songs - the songs would not be the same if you played something else. While most of the other guys were better technically, their solos were fairly interchangeable.

I go for Bruce, Ace was great at his time but i don't really hear new changes in his playing style ...

His image is way cooler than those who came after him and he was the original one.

As far as lead guitarist go it would have to be ace hands down. Its style fit kisses overall sound the best. I think bruce and tommy are better players but ace will always be mt favorite.

i say ace as far as fitting the bands sound best, if he had had more songwriting input it would have been much different. and every melody he played was a hook, which helped. technically vinnie vincent annihilates the rest of them, even if he was stuck in the 'speed playing' trap. he wrote fantastic songs too, lick it up was a good album because of him |

Gotta wonder what happened after that. Love Kills was a good song but everything off the first record didn't even sound like it was written by the same guy who did most of Lick it Up |

Mark St John was The best followed closely by VV. My 8 year old kid could play ace and paul.
