Went to Best Buys to get a gift certificate yesterday for a friend's Birthday.
On my way out, I spotted Blackmore's Night recent album while taking a quick look in the Black Sabbath pile.
I decided to pick it up to see what
Ritchie Blackmore is up to with his renaissance music outfit.
It's called Ghost of a Rose. So far good first impression. It's not
Deep Purple or Rainbow, folks. This is medieval-style music, played with old instruments.
Candice Night is the lead singer (and a total fox, I might add) Ritchie is one lucky bastard, I tell you!
There's a bonus video track from one of the songs, where you get to see for yourself what a knockout Candice Night is. ( the two backup singers are also beauty queen material by the way).
Now on to the music in itself: well, if you are up for a change of pace, you may like the renaissance stuff. I personnaly like that a lot, as it's not far off the whole Rainbow, Dio, Maiden vibe (the themes, not the head banging! )
Anyway, I'm glad Ritchie Blackmore decided to no longer torture his fellow Deep Purple band members with his shitty attitude and is own his own with this outfit. I think we all gain from it. I may buy other albums from Blackmore's Night.
