Alright CC - Heres my take on Vol.VI
If you like Zakk This is the best representative of him your going to get. Everything Zakk is on this album - heavy fuckin balls guitar, squeal harmonix, blistering pentatonics, fine ass acoustic & piano playing, great songwriting. This is the best BLS album. Best Zakk album - its up for argue. But Hangover is like 'Black Alice 'N' Skynrd'. Its great after a day of listening it just keeps getting better and better. Definitely some fine guitar moments on this one. He seamlessly blends acoustic, piano and heavy fuckin guitar together - as best as Ive ever heard it - The only other I can think of is Jerry Cantrell. With 15 songs you cant go wrong. This is what it is hangover tunes but with some balls and no sap - Driving and chilling out tunes... Even has a song about Layne Staley - nice groove when they break it down - you hear knocking like their at Layne's door but hes not opening - nice touch. This is a must have for any zakk fan. I never minded Zakk's voice but for some of these songs, its just a little too raspy - a little too bourbon fueled - Some needed the touches of a more capable singer with a little more range to bring the sulbties of this album out. Great songwriting though. He can do it but maybe if this was a ZAKK WYLDE album and not a BLS one - the harder edge wouldnt be so up front. If you dont have this and your a ZAKK fan, go grab it.

I cant say it any better then that right there. Great review bro
I should mention that James Lomenzo formely of
White Lion and DLR, plays on several songs. Mike Inez formally with Ozzy and of course Alice In Chains, plays on song number 1. It's funny cause that song is the most Alice sounding of all of the them, with Zakk doing his best Layne vocally. That tune is my favorite song so far. Zakk has an acoustic instumental that lasts for about 40 seconds and will blow you're fucking mind!
All in all it's a graet album that you can throw on with Jar of Flies, or Sap, and even Mad Season. If you're in that mood to just mellow out and listen to some of the most wicked sounds ever, then this is a cd you'd dig. And I know you dig alot of shit CC, so I think you'll like this.
Vocally, as Ipecac pointed out, Zakk sounds a little too raspy. But then again, ya really dont care ya know. Zakk never proclaimed to be like this great singer, so if you know what BLS is about, then you'll dig it. Scale of 1-10, with 10 being the best, I'll give this album a solid 7 1/2.
