Brazilian Guitarist Ozielzinho
You guys may have seen or heard about this awesome guitarist before, but I thought I'd post the link...his unbelievable phrasing/note choice on his tunes might be the best I've heard. Check him out! In the videos section, I specifically recommend the tune "Wolverine"...can't get that hook out of my head! If you need the page translated, you can do a google search and find his site and click the option next to his site's link to translate to your language...but even in Portuguese (I apologize in advance if it's NOT!) you should be able to navigate through the mp3s and vids. Let me know what you think...the dude has definitely inspired me!

Whoa!
Nice post, Lawless 33. I've already heard about Orielzinho, but it was the first time I checked out his website. Thanks for the link, man!

Very nice!
I'm Brazilian and I can say the most incredible here is that people really don't give a crap to these musicians... If you're a GREAT musician here you die of starving.
"Bossa Nova", for instance, is more recognized over Europe or USA than here.

I'll check the guy out...I gotta say, it's the same everywhere. I'm sure there are a lot of unknown UK guys that Brazilians haven't heard of. I was fortunate to be in a bnad with TWO Brazilian guitarists (an Alice Cooper tribute) and they were great musicians and even greater guys. I will check this guy out...thanks for the link-I'm always interested in new people; if I wasn't I'd have never discovered Kelly Joe Phelps or Doug Aldrich. Some of us care and want music to continue all over the globe.

'Far Beyond The Sun' is superb! Great player but I'll have to check out his own stuff to see if HE comes across rather than a great copy of Yngwie...we got a few really good players in that style here...check out Yakamashii from Singapore...big fan of Yngwie and Joe Stump. Also Dannyboy...another Malmsteen sorta guy.

That "Wolverine" track was pretty good and it wasn't just more neoclassical wankage, which I can't stand. There is also some guy in Brazil that I read about in a Guitar Player article named Marcio Falchet. Apparently he rip it up pretty well on the guitar, but unfortunately I have never heard any of his work. Anyway, nice post. It's good to see more of the lesser known guys getting introduced to are fellow musicians in these forums.

Yeah you're right too, but what I'm saying is that A LOT of Brazilian musicians (unknown here) play in bars over Europe or USA and they make three, four, five, six, seven times more money than they were here...
I heard that once a guy from here got 8000 Euros in the end of 1 month just playing Bossa Nova in the bars of Berlin, while if he was playing in Brazilian bars he couldn't make the equivalent to 1000 Euros/month. While pinheads made-up by the media are really rich...
Even known Brazilian artists like Tom Jobim for instance are way too much more valorized outside Brazil.

Whoa. Sorry for the long delay, man.
That's true - I heard he was Kiko's student.
I'll try to find out something else in order to post here to you and everyone interested.

Been listening to some more of his tunes. Although much of his stuff is neclassical, he doesn't allow melody to suffer. He is also very versatile... one of his scores is bluesey whilst another is very latin but with a twist. Very awesome musicianship and tasteful I must say. His tune "Luz" is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Everyone should give it a listen.
The guy is absolutely amazing. I sure hope his talents don't go to waste simply because of his location

He has a vid for "Wolverine", but no mp3....but that tune is great for a rocker! The arpeggios in that tune are a little different to my ear, but it's a great tune. "Isabella" is definitely my favorite slow tune of his...great tone...the video version of that tune is way better than the mp3 version, which is a little different.
