DLR: Back To Vegas
Report: DAVID LEE ROTH To Get His Own Vegas Show - Jan. 6, 2004
The adult revue "X" co-producer Angela Sampras tells The Las Vegas Sun that she and partner Bobby Boling are not looking to incorporate former VAN HALEN frontman David Lee Roth into their existing show, as the paper had earlier reported. "We are creating a whole new show for David," Sampras said. And regarding Roth's poorly received 1995 Bally's headline gig? "That was not the right time for David to appear on the Strip," Sampras said. "Now, with our creative genius and his talent for comedy, I think we can have yet another hit show."

Re: DLR: Back To Vegas
This is right up Dave's alley, he is a showman and this gives him a great platform.

A dissenting opinion here: this sounds AWFUL. I mean, Dave has difficulty these days articulating in a coherent manner. Did you reat (or try to read) his book? Have you heard him recently on interviews? His entire method of communication these days is "stream of consciousness" - whatever comes in his mind goes right out of his mouth without a filter. I for one am not interested.

Wip, you have to have an open mind about Dave. Look what Vegas did for Elvis and Wayne Newton!

Hmmm...the guys from Unchained have tickets to see his (twice cancelled) show but I remember going to see him in 1995 (I think) when he toured with the Filthy Little Mouth album. Steve had gone as had Billy as had Greg (I think). He had a bunch of really good musicians with no showmanship at all-which was a big dissapointment after the Power Twins. He started doing some blues and I mean not even Dave-like blues and the place half emptied (me included). You know what it is? Tho' you may disagree, we don't wanna see him grow old gracefully...I mean Jagger is growing old disgracefully, knighthood or not, and we wanna see Dave being a fool and singing VH with VH! I think they gotta lay this ghost to rest. I don't wanna see DLR even if it is with the ex Punks guy on guitar...I wanna see VH.

EJ, I've got an open mind about Dave my VH brother - I just think some sort of lame comedy act in Vegas is a bad idea. I'd love to see him on the road touring behind a new DLR band album and not doing a VH greatest hits tour. Maybe he will surprise me and this Vegas venture will be the fo'shizzle. The smart money, however, is that it will bomb.
