...and as I listen to the solo in 'Take Me As I Am' I realise this guy is a MONSTER but then ALL of Dream Theater are monster players!

Dream Theater rocks!!!

Can't say ive heard DT's stuff, Metallica's music is overrated and hyped far to much for my liking They might of done the odd decent song here or there, but i don't take any band seriously who uses the same key throughout a whole album When i compare there music to someone like Satch or Vai, they don't even register on the radar Maybe thats a unfair light to put them in though, but i don't really listen to any real Heavy metal, mostly rock/metal/classical I guess imho, you either love them or can't stand them

Edenbridge is an unknown quantity at this point
this is a pretty pathetic topic......listen to the Awake album by Dreamtheater and then listen to Craptalllica's Black Album.....nuff said......tallica couldnt hold DT"S jock. Hell lars cant even play 75% of Mikes beats the dude can play pretty much any beat with one hand and his frickin eyes closed....ive seen him do it liive many times..........no Bass player in tallica could ever play 6 STRING arpeggios like John Myung......nor could kirk or james play ANYTHING john petrucci can......Thanks hell i bet mr.rudess could play guitar better.....lol

To say that a guitarist(s) suck because they can't play as well as petrucci, is just pathetic. Thats the most retarded statement I've heard in a long time. No guitarist can or ever will play alike or with the same exact technique...thats stupid. There isn't a damn thing wrong with Kirk Hammet or James Hetfield's guitar playing. Its just a different style of music thats all. It's heavier, and its their own style. If you don't like Metallica, fine and dandy but to say they suck is completely idiotic. We do not need every guitarist to play exactly the same or write the same.

Those who say Petrucci rules or Vai rules and everyone else sucks should take a look at themselves as a player because if YOU can't play as well as Petrucci, then well YOU must suck too! Right? NUFF SAID.
