The Who Live at Leeds is the best live album of all time! All others pale in comparison. I also really enjoy Aerosmith's Live Bootleg, Springsteen's Hammersmith Odeon '75, Allman Bros. Fillmore East, and The Stone's Get Yer Ya Ya's Out.

This is a broad term. For the albums listed, it must be stressed that most of these have received the good ol' studio polishings...thank god for the "other" option...I'm going to be inclined to say my top 5 "Live" recordings are as follows:
Deep Purple-Made In Japan
Allman Brothers Band-At Fillmore East
Free Live!-Free
Euorpe '72-Grateful Dead
UFO-Strangers in the Night

The Stuff of Legends
UFO - Strangers In The Night
It was the last of those great double lives in the 70's and the best and I don't think there were any great live albums in the 80s, nothing coming close to the sound captured on SITN by Ron Nevison. I prefer the 1979 version starting with Natural Thing. And Michaels's guitar work remained as it did on the nights of those shows, un-dubbed and unrivalled.
A close second would be AC/DC's 'If You Want Blood'. The energy on that album is unbelievable.

If it was on the list I would choose AC/DC live, but then I saw Frampton comes alive haha
