Mmm I just can't choose between The Who, Live at Leeds, or, Thin Lizzy, Live and Dangerous.

Hmm... of your choices I'd go with Tribute.
But none of those make it into my personal list of favorite live albums.
-Deep Purple "Made in Japan"
-Heaven and Hell "Live at Radio City Music Hall"
-UFO "Strangers in the Night"
-Rainbow "on Stage"
-DiMeola,DeLuca,McLaughlin "Friday Night in SanFransisco"
-The Who "Live at Leeds"
- Allman Bros. "At Filmore East"
I think that all of these are better choices.
But that's just me.

I voted for Ozzy's "Randy Rhoads Tribute".
Iron Maiden's "Live After Death" and Judas Priest's "'98 Live Meltdown" are also really good.

Donny Hathaway - Live
I don't know how everyone else will feel about this, but the first thing that popped into my mind was Donny Hathaway's "Live" album...... I do have most of the other albums that other posters liked, and I too think that they're amazing (....well....most of them anyway....), but DH Live is ORGASMIC... just on a whole other level....... LiveEvil, How TWW Won, Rand Rhodes Tribute, DP In Japan, Ect all rank 10 out of 10 on my scale, but Donny's a 15 of 10...... I know you're skeptical..... I was too.... I'd never heard of it till a few years ago when I read that Derek Trucks, my favorite guitarist (.....look up "Live At The Georgia Theater" and listen to "For My Brother"), said that his favorite live album was Donny Hathaway - Live....... I, having thoundsands of cd's, and terabytes of bootlegs, and being somewhat of a music snob myself, thought that there was just NO WAY that THE BEST ALBUM OF ALL TIME could be something, officially released, over 30 years old that "I" had never even heard of!..... I looked it up........... I WAS SOOOO WRONG!!!! The album has EVERYTHING! It's sexy.... It grooves..... It has energy..... It has edge..... It has the sweetest voice to ever sing (I promise you...... Just think Sam Cooke singing like Jimi Hendrix plays guitar)..... It has Willie Weeks ( Eric Clapton's current touring bass player) who plays some of the "grooviest" bass playing you'll ever hear..... It' only 8 songs, 7 of which are covers....... It open's with a cover of M. Gaye's "What's Going On" and also has a version of John Lennon's "Jealous Guy"(but more... almost soul/reggae...) that almost make the originals (which I reguard as 2 of the greatest songs of all time) irrellevant....... If you've been intrigued enough to read this far, just do yourself a favor and look it up NOW..... Everyone I've played it around has been stopped in their tracks......
P.S. : Make sure you listen to the 8 song album just titled "Live" (from 1971 or 1972) first..... He has 2 other live albums ("In Performance" and "These Songs For You"), which are much more readily available, but not nearly as good....... "Live" is out of print, but you won't have a problem finding it on a torrent site like piratebay or demonoid............

My all-time favorite live album is The Last Waltz. It was the first time I ever heard The Band and since I've been obsessed with them
