Frank Zappa

ive had zappa albums in my cd player for a long time now.. i just cant get enough of his genius work...
any big zappa fans here?

my fav zappa albums include:
Freak Out!
Hot Rats
Overnight Sensation
Ship Arriving too late to save a drowning witch
You are what you is
Shut up and play yer guitar

Hot Rats in my opinion is probably one of the greatest jazz rock albums of all time.. the melody in peaches en regalia is just beautiful.. so memorable.. so strong yet done with so much finesse.... This was when zappa's instrumental career really flourished.. Hot Rats still sounds so fresh and amazing these days..

I downladed some live clips if zappa wit Steve vai. He is really cool, they both are.

I saw the mothers of invention last year forget the exact band name. But some of the members played with Zappa. I got to talk with them. ( the bass player and the singer really nice guys)

The bass player told me about how he meet steve vai for the first when vai was 19.

I asked the singer about the from that song dental floss, Montana i think it's called. We sang it back-stage because i thought i was so cool!

I like "Black Napkins"

Oh, how long I've been wishing for a BT of Black Napkins

hehehe, Frank Zappa was a phenomenon... Anyone know if Dweezil is a good musician too? I heard somewhere that he plays freakishly amazing tapping because he learned his tapping skills from Steve Vai and Eddie Van Halen

'Muffin Man' and 'In France' are great tunes, very funny too. I'm going to have to check out Black Napkins.

Love Zappa!

Favorite album: Probably Zoot Allures. (First one I heard!)
Favorite song: You Are What You Is.
Favorite guitar solo: Too many...some that stand out: Black Napkins (Zoot Allures), Outside Now (Joe's Garage Act II), Them Or Us...the list goes on!

My favourite instrumental of FZ's is Watermelon in Easter Hay followed very closely by Peaches en regalia.
My favourite album is Roxy and Elsewhere.
Do any of you FZ fans enjoy the Flo and Eddie years? I've always read that the Flo and Eddie 'vaudeville' transition was always the least favoured period in FZ's career, though I find the Filmore 71 album to be pretty good.

Love Frank Zappa!
Dweezil is an amazing I player. I saw him in Melbourne doing a Zappa plays Zappa show. He is also a great guy. I got to meet him and shake his hand and he was happy to chat and sign autographs. Check out the ZPZ live DVD its great. The dueling solos from Dweezil and Steve Vai are a must see!
My Fave Frank solo's would have to be Watermelon in Easter Hay, Black Napkins, Packard Goose and Yo Mama.

I have almost all FZs albums and I saw him many, many times in the U.K. I find his music gets stronger. Iv,e heard some really good cover versions of some of his music of late and Dweezil is doing some great work too. But nothing sounds as good as when FZ was there. .........I really miss him.

Frank Zappa was a Genius!

Apostrophe is my favorite album so far. From beginning to end that cd is amazing. Cheap Thrills is also a great cd. All you Zappa fans, if you havent already, should check out zappateers.com (I hope thats correct). Its all Frank Zappa related. Tons of bootlegs as well!

Frank was a great guitarist, although I do not share many of his views, especially on religion.
I love his 1969 - 1976 stuff, until Apostrophe.
