Hendrix - Live At Woodstock DVD

Hey all! I just picked up the new 2-disc DVD of Jimi playing at Woodstock yesterday. As soon as I got home I popped Disc 1 into my DVD player and watched and listened to, what is in my opinion, the greatest performance Hendrix ever did, although Berkeley also ranks pretty high on my list as well. The experience of watching the whole thing in 5.1 sound blew me away, and the extras on Disc 2 with Mitch Mitchell, Larry Lee, and Billy Cox were excellent. Also a nice hinghlight was Eddie Kramer talking about recording the festival. Any one else have this and what did they think of this DVD release?

What blew my mind was the discovery of actual VIDEO TAPE of the entire performance, shot from the right side of the stage by a film student from a nearby college!!

Totally forgotten, and undiscovered by the rest of the world until only a couple of years ago. It includes a couple of songs that were never filmed, because the cameramen were busy changing film in their cameras at the time!

And the dude actually was able to show Jimi the videotape only a couple of days later!!!

This DVD is very much worth owning!

Might also try to find some of the stuff he did at Monterey Pop Festival... Especially "like a rolling stone" best version ever, if you've seen it I bet you'll agree, if you haven't you should check it out.
