How can you explain Hannah Montana’s explosion in popularity?
Hey, guys. Well, I’m sure you’ve all heard about it- since it’s been over the news. Disney star Hannah Montana (or whatever her name is) has become the most heavily demanded name these days. Her concert tour has become the hottest ticket in town- way hotter than The Police, Bruce Springsteen, and Van Halen. Her tickets have out-sold more and faster than any artist ever before. She is currently bigger than a Beatles reunion or a Rolling Stones world tour, as the media have said.
- I do NOT agree with her success.... at all....
- The answer to her sucess is in your post - Disney
- NOTHING is great about her
- Her status will definitly not last, in the disney thing you just come and rocket to the top and then die out, rich and young.
- If i had kids I would make them go see Van Halen.......
I don't find it amazing at all that she is so popular, sadly, Disney did a GREAT job marketing her off to 12 year old girls around the world, and it is making both disney and herself a load of money, and I'm sure they are thrilled. Her sucess will not last, simply because she will get older and Disney will replace her with an almost exact copy that will follow in her, and others before her, footsteps. I'm not a fan what can I say........ I always thaught you had to know how to play and instument or atleast sing before you could get good in the music world..... how untrue this is and has been.

I think it's just one of those young girl things. And the reason her concerts are selling out, is for a few reasons. Scalpers for one. But the big thing is that the kids that want to go need their parents to take them. So for every 10 year old girl that wants to see her, there's at least 2 tickets sold (kid + parent).
It's not just a girl thing, my 9 year old son likes her too. It's just another pop-idol phenomenon that we'll never understand. It's happened before with David Cassidy (Partridge Family), Shawn Cassidy (Hardy Boys), the Monkees, just to name a few. It's pop music generated strictly for the young masses, and they seem to buy it up.
I have to admit, I don't really think she can sing... BUUUUUT she's a good role model for little girls. Honestly, parents want their children to be exposed to wholesome music, and the answer is Hannah Montana. And like in most other posts, it's all about marketing because little girls would want every little thing hannah montana. And besides, kids just need a positive role model to look after.. i mean come on, the whole jamie lynn spears deal was a huge disappointment, and I felt bad for all those girls who looked up. I think the world needs to get away from all the paris's, and lindsey's and start providing more positive role models.
...well, she does bring out the pervert in me!.....but seriously, Miley Cyrus is a good comedic actress...her TV show is very funny...Hannah Montana is a CHARACTER not a real performer(that's what it's about)...the joke is on Everybody!!!!!
she's for little kids or preteen girls to be exact. they like her cause they think she's cool. it's that simple. she's clearly not a musician, but then again neither is maddona or 90% of the other pop and hip hop stars out there. Popularity means nothing, respect means everything.

Sorry, that reason is out the door too what with her 'photo incident'.
