I am sooooo disappointed in the interview special!!

Man, I have been looking forward to this interview for a while now and I finally get to hear it (thanks to www.vhreunion.com) and it is the most canned, overproduced, pile of nothing that I've heard ion a while. Someone did a masterful job of editing this thing. Truly, it is about 10 minutes worth of the band speaking, if that. The rest is Tommy, I'll do anything to whore myslef out for Van Halen, Nast getting on his knees in front of them and asking the most ridiculous questions between sucks (will you be soloing? what does the stage look like? CRAP!!)

I guess we will just have to wait to get some real insight to the band and the situation. I recognize the fact that we have all been starved for information over the last 5-6 years and that we are all ravenous for it now, but c'mon!! don't tease me with the first interview and "Tour Special" being some pile of crap like this!!! Ain't heard it but I feel the same way...I don't want to find out about stuff I can prolly find out without much searching...I wanna ask the impertinent questions that they won't wanna answer. In the same way that I hate this line of questioning, I also hate band videos for the same reason. However, 2 stand out as real diamonds. The making of P.U.M.P by Aerosmith and The Def Leppard story...warts and all is whats needed-not airbrushed to oblivion, clean-as-a-whistle soundbites!

I just listened to it.......I learned nothing new. When you interview someone isn't the objective to get them to open up and tell you some real shit?

Ed wasn't drunk...When you have cancer, sometimes the only treatment is to CUT IT OUT OF YOU. Using the information you know, I think you can figure out the rest. Hold your tongue between your thumb and forefinger--now talk. See? These types of interviews usually don't tell us much, but I think it DID tell us SOMETHING, at least in different terms. We forget just how informed we really are with the internet these days. Too much information can be a bad thing...Imagine how much you would have learned without the internet...Do you think that they could have possibly told you everything you've wanted to know about the past 6-8 years in 60 minutes anyway? No. Here's a tip for everyone on the 'net: Step away from the keyboard, relax and just be glad that our favorite band is active again and let it all sink in. We're not going to get a tour, videos out the wazoo and 5 new albums in the same time it takes to download the latest "nipple" pics of Britney or Anna Kournikova. Real life takes lllloooonnnnggggeeeerrrr...Sorry, just had to get that out there. Sometimes technology sucks...

I used to think that he was drunk too but the more I hear him the slurs seem the same on certain words in every interview. I definitely think it's due to a part of his tongue being cut out.

I have to agree with Troy - uninspired drivel. But I don't expect Westwood One to conduct a hard hitting interview either. It was, unfortunately, about what I expected. I do love the intro to "Learning to See" however!

oh yeah... that sucked! Glad I spent an hour and got nothing but a taste of the intos to LTS and UFB. But I could have waited till july and been just as happy...lol. Well, Its friday night and I am going to go jam with some buddies and then hit the titty bars (its a friends 21st B-day lol) Maybe Ill get a chick to strip to some Van Halen... that might be worth it...lol.
