KISS
I think its sad how they can care less about Peter and Ace, they continue to alienate their fans because of money. I know Gene says its all about business but its really about lining his and Paul's pocket while screwing the drummer and guitarist. The bottom line is its the fans who suffer because they are selfish, pretty sad really.

Re: KISS
Whoa whoa... Sure Gene and Paul are money grubbing assholes, but Peter and Ace have contributed their share.
Back when the first reunion tour was developing in the mid-90's, Peter Chris opriginally inistsed that the band be billed as "Kiss featuring Peter Chris", and it was Peter that would start playing shit out of time to fuck up the rest of the band if he didn;t get something his way.
Ace would also routinely not show up on time for sound checks and interviews. If memory serves correctly, didn;t Ace just flat out and not show up to a couple of shows becuase he didn't get his way with a particular?
Don't get me wrong. I loved KISS, and I have the action figures proudly displayed as well as a few boots, and I also got to see them center stage 6th row on the first reunion tour, but when you have 4 assholes trying to stage their own comeback before the band, something's gotta give.
Personally, I think the band should give it up without Peter and Ace, but as long as people are willing to pay to see them, they will milk it for what it's worth. I don't know if I wouldn't do the same thing...

Re: KISS
Oops, I was so used to this forum being in the bottom slot that I didn't even pay attention, thanks dude.
As for Peter, this is the first I have heard of this featuring thing not to say its not true though. From what I understand they were paying him and Ace some ungodly low wage per show, like in the hundreds because they were "hired players" and that just makes me sick. I would quote the article if I could remember where it was but it was legit, to Gene its all about money and him and Paul can care less about anything else, pretty much by their own admission. To take two other people and put them in the same makeup is proof of this IMO its a comlete sellout and I hope the fans show up in limited numbers to make this known. I certainly will never see a show with half a tribute band under those circumstances.

Re: KISS
BUT, there were times when Peter was so unreliable, that the band would have a stand in for Peter in full makeup just in case he didn;t show up. Not to say how greedy Gene and Paul are, but Pete and Ace have kind of "earned" getting shit on by the band, and I really do beleive part of it is becuase Gene and Paul want to protect the legacy of KISS.

Re: KISS
LOL I can see that we aren't going to agree on this which is cool by me. I will say that you can read through the archives at kissonline.com and the band is doing what they can to paint a bad picture of Ace and Peter and I don't buy a fucking word of it. However, they both have arguments against Gene and Paul that are much more believable to me. Here's what I read from it personally, Gene and Paul want to fuck them out of their fair share of money and Ace and Peter won't have it so they are out and the replacements are in, not that they are bad musicians, in fact they are great but they are still just replacements who don't care how little they are paid to be posers to feed Gene's money hungry machine.

Re: KISS
Hell yea man. I've held out for years on going too see Rush, but i gotta check out this 30th anniversary show. I hear Neil Pert is UNREAL live. I cant wait too find out.
Kiss was better than Aerosmith last year when I saw em. Tommy Thayer is fuckin bad assed on that Les Paul Peter wasn't too bad either. I was expecting him too be the weakest link, but he held his own.

Re: KISS
Eric, check out "Kiss and $ell". It is an account of the early days through the 80's of KISS from the perspective of their managers at the time. Excellent book, really not favoring anyone in the band

Re: KISS
yeah ace and peter have done their share of damage in all of this over the years. but gene just seems to be kind of wacked out these days. he spouts off about all kinds of shit and says this and says that but i have yet to see paul say "yep, thats how it is or i agree with gene" anyone see paul saying anything? and gene and all his business ventures. sheesh! all about the green i suppose.
one of Ace's complaints was that he wanted to do a new kiss album and change the set list up. legit things to want i would say. I am still a big kiss fan, just a fan of the old kiss way more. i was in the kiss army back in the 70's. still have my members card and all kinds of stuff from way back.
but man today i am just so turned off by everything and all the kiss products and everything else.
i gots me memories, i have seen them 5 times or so, got some bootleg old shows, eh some newer shows too. haha
(i am kind of addicted to bootlegs, i need counciling)
kiss was it for me back in the mid 70's. there was nothing more badd ass than kiss, but i did listen to other stuff on the radio. stones, zep, nugent, etc.........
ok, rambling off.

Re: KISS
Dont forget that god awful record Psycho Circus. As soon as I heard that album it was over for me. They through together a peice of crap and fed it to us like some people throw scraps to a dog...
Kiss was gettin it all back together with Revenge and Carnival of Souls.
Of course I went to the reunion shows. And they did Kick ass. Now that Ace and Peter are gone its really over. I have no interest in seeing imposters. I can go see a tribute band for that...
